So as many of you know I have a logitech F310 gaming controller, and I am going to invest in a keyboard and mouse instead. I am keeping the logitech F310 controller just incase i want to play it ever again. So my question is, do you have any options for good gaming keyboards and mouses that are under $200?

I just have a basic logitech keyboard... never tried a "gaming" one before tbh, but it does the trick, probably costs like £15 if that... (i guess that's about $25 or something) and I have a logitech mx518 gaming mouse, dirt cheap, really great. I'm sure many people here would agree.

For keyboard, anything mechanical and well built. For mouse, try out some different ones. See which one fits best.

I get a lot of mileage out of Logitech keyboards, even the cheap ones. Certainly don't go spending a lot of money on a gaming keyboard, just find one with the layout you want.

As for a mouse, you need to find one that is a comfortable fit for your hand. Trust me on this, because I started to develop RSI in my right hand just by using a mouse that wasn't the right fit, and as soon as I switched mice the RSI went away. I now use a Logitech MX518 corded mouse, which I find very comfortable and very good for gaming. You can adjust the mouse resolution on the fly using a couple of small buttons on the top of the mouse, and there are five other buttons (including LMB and RMB) that you can set to whatever you want.

I have primary fire, secondary fire, iron sights, melee and nade throw all on my mouse (and use the scroll wheel for changing weapons) - which negates the need for reaching for the correct key on the keyboard in a firefight.

My mice see a lot of abuse, but I'm only on my second mx518. :/

I have a Razer Blackwidow and Razer Lachesis, both work wonderfully. I had a MX518 but it broke, so I bought another and then that one broke... all in like a 4 month period. Whatever. I like the Lachesis a lot better anyways. inb4 hate, just my personal opinion.

Unless all you do is game during the day, a backlit or illuminated keyboard is a must for PC gaming IMO. Getting one with full anti-ghosting too.

After having pretty terrible luck with a Logitech set, I got a Razer Deathadder black edition and have been pretty happy with it so far. Much better then the logitech mouse I had before it. I also picked up a fairly cheap Gigabyte keyboard to tide me over until I could get something better, but It's got a volume dial built in that I have become pretty fond of that most keyboards lack...

I've nver used any high end ones, they seem really pointless. For me the biggest decision is what feels right in my hand. In the past $5 mice have done the trick for me, I recently spent $60 on a mouse and it felt the same in terms of performance, so take that as you will.

There's quit a few of us out there, no need to be surprised. :P I will say that having a higher level of hand-eye coordination doesn't necessarily make you excellent at typing, mostly from anecdotal experience.

I got a logitech g5 cheap, but a razer deathadder would be a great choice. Make sure it fits your hand and that the mouse isn't so big that you have to 'palm' it.

Gaming mouses are cheaper nowadays so thats good news to you. Keyboards are not as necessary, even a saitek can fulfill your gaming needs aestheically. Though if you get your insane about pc gaming than go ahead with a mech keyboard $100+ I went with razer blackwidow ultimate, is slightly heavy to type on but games good.

I love how it types. It gives great response and typing feedback. Even the slightest tap gets the keys to respond. Once you get used to it and your typing gets accurate on the keyboard you won't have much problems typing on it. It can get loud though cause it's very very clicky but I don't mind it. It might get annoying if some else is around though.

Razer deathadder black edition + Razer lycosa mirror (or no mirror) xD

Logitech g500 + Logitech g110

Razer products are awesome but u won't get logitech warranty. U get 2 year warranty, and if somethings breaks, take a pic of it, show em and they'll send a replacement inmediatly. They're brilliant.

This is the combo I use and they're great. Plenty of extra buttons and macro keys, though tbh I don't use them often but it's nice to have.

Dang, I thought every PC gamer would be hand-eye coordinate, I do agree on the typing accuracy you because it isn't always me but the placing of the keys that vary from keyboard to keyboard. Ex. My "I" might be where your "O" is located.

Keyboards don't matter at all. I'm using a cheap 9 year old Dell keyboard and It works extremely well (paint hasn't even rubbed off of the WASD keys  ).

For a mouse, I honestly don't think it really matters either other than the build qualty that determines how long it lasts. I had a cheap Dell ball mouse that lasted for maybe 5 years and I got really good at FPS at that time. Switched to Microsoft optical mouse and it worked great until it stopped working. I'm currently using a Razer Deathadder which is at maybe 3 years now and it still works, so the build quality is really good. The problem is that my gaming performance decreased substantially when i got it and has never gone back up no matter how much i use it.

So, my next mouse is going to be a cheap ball mouse, so I suggest you get one of those too.

I can do ok usually with hitting the nearby and semi keys, when I have to peck for the zero or \ or = key, is when its rather iffy to hit right in nightime gaming with no keyboard illumination.

Sad thing is, can't find a DECENT illuminated keyboard for under $50 or so.

Just get yourself a razer deathadder/logitech mx518 mouse, and a Leopold cherry mx red keyboard(from elitekeyboards.com) or a Steelseries 6gv2/7g that have cherry mx black keys.

Im gonna also throw it out there an suggest against getting the razer blackwidow(which sport cherry mx blue keys). In my experinece i really dislike the keystroke for all gaming except hotkey-based games. But excellent for pure typing. On the other hand I have found cherry mx red keys to be the ultimate all arounder that excels at everything. Just my imo...

Everyone says logitech but I got a logitech G9 mouse and some logitech 5.1 speakers and both broke for apparently no reason. The speakers fluctuate volume and the mouse has malfunctioning keys.

They're not old either...

Mice/keyboard combos can be a very personal preference (like underwear (or lack thereof) because they involve ergonomics and personal comfort (also like underwear). What works for someone else might not work for you, so will take some trial-and-error (and wasted money) before you find your ideal setup. I've tried several mice (including wasting $100 on the Rat 7), but keep coming back to my good ole MS Habu. I'll be sad when it wears out.

I use to have a Razer deathadder (my laptop broke the usb) and then I got a Tt esports black but its not as good (even though it's cheaper). I'll probably get a deathadder in the future. For keyboards I can't speak for gaming ones.

In the past I did use a Logitech DiNovo 2 as main keyboard/gaming keyboard. Currently I use a Logitech K800. Bot were cordless (bluetooth), but the K800 is a bit better due uses battery retcrargable through USB. the DiNovo looks a bit cooler buth both are fine (and expensive).

As mouse I did use mainly Logitech mices (M300, M900) but in the last years I bought both the Razer Mamba and the Saitek/Cyborg R.A.T. 9. Both are wireless (as with the K800 keyboard, you can use a USB connection anytime with the Mamba if you want). The Razer is way better, despite having only one battery (the R.A.T. 9 has 2). The R.A.T. 9 software is worse and despite having the same 5.600 dpi Phillip's twin eagle lens the one from the Saitek trends to have freezings.

So my choice would be for a KT800 and a Razer Mamba or Imperator. The only problem could be the price, but you can go with any cheap Logitech choice and the cheapest wired Razor mices without problems, anyway.

deathadder/mamba 2012 (mamba for wireless).

or logitech g700, which comes either wired or wireless.

I prefer the razer mice for feel, but the logitech ones are not that far off for less money.

I know the blacks are even heavier, but I can still feel the weight like it takes more out of me to lift my fingers, is not the tapping the makes it heavy since the keys sink faster than rubberdome.

As for the spacebar I found that using my left thumb to press spacebar really helps prevent that issue. Though it kind of hurts after a while since only one thumb is doing all the work.

At the end of the day the clicky noise helps you be aware of what you type kind of like an instrument where you can hear and feel!.. to a lesser extent.
