Like the title says I'm looking for a new headset for ~$50 since my old one's wire shorted out on me. I don't want to go any higher than $60 unless the upgrade is really worth it.
Here are the Cyber Snipa Sonar. They are a 5.1 headset that does everything through a single usb (power and all 6 channels). The software is great, you can change the sound on the fly, they are easily the most comfortable headset out there (just warch any youtube review or the TigerDirect review), the cord is plenty long, and the mic is noise canceling. From the site, they are I think $64 but if you just google it there should be some available for $45. I have had these for a while and they are amazing, really great for shooters due to the 5.1.
get yourself a pair of sony mdr-v6 headphones which should run for about $80 or perhaps a sennheiser hd280pro... along zalmon clip on mic(which clips to the cord conveniently)
this would reasonably over your budget, but you said "unless its worth it"...and it would be much worth it in my view
overall sound quality will ALWAYS be better with high quality stereo headphones, rather than 5.1 headsets, and all headsets in general
