Best HL2 Mod Eva Just Released

Fortress Forever. It's Team Fortress 2 without the cartoony graphics and a bunch of original and classic Team Fortress maps.

Nuff said. Anyone play it so far? Thoughts?

And how people can hate it is beyond me. It's amazing, but then again you'd probbly need to be a veteran FPS fan to see why.

yeah there are no standard grenades, and some classes are changed, like medic can heal people from a distance and other junk but i forget.

Too many bugs, maps are too small, it just wasn't for me.

I haven't had any bugs which is odd. And the maps are actually quite large - just play Dustbowl for a try. But I guess this is for more nostalgic gamers then.

EDIT: Seriously though, this should be a treat to newer gamers too.

why would you need to be a veteran of FPs to like it? I have been playing FPS since Wolfenstein came out, that would make me a vet and I dont like the original TF. Its just personal preference

TF2 will satisfy my nostalgia for TFC. FF just seemed kind of gimmicky for me is all.drphizzle0

TF2 is a much different game though, and FF is much more similar.

I didn't say every person who's been playing FPS games for the longest time will like it, but they're more likely. Everyone who's commented so far didn't like it for many obscure reasons so I'm just assuming that it's a little to frantic and somewhat old-school (conc jumping and such).

most everyone i know (we've been playing PC games since Wolf3d and such) likes TFC, and for TF2 to have no conc grenades is disappointing (not for me, i'm not a huge fan of TFC) TFF IS fun, but its not as polished as it should be

Well I loved the TFC and I love this mod. It stays true to the original with some awesome add-ons like spies being able to sabotage sentry guns. I never played as a spy in TFC but it's my favourite class in FF :)

I'm not sure if I'll be playing TF2 or FF when the TF2 beta comes out (which it should be out now! :()
