EVGA. It's built well and they have a really good warranty if you register it within 30 days of buying it.

gl finding one.. they sold like hotcakes on newegg and tigerdirect.. if your lucky they will still be @ other retailers. xfx is good so is bfg and evga and i guess asus gigabyte and elitegroup and zotac and jaton and sparkle are all okay but id avoid them if you can.

Also, why are retailers running out of stock on the 260's. Is it because of the fermi's comming out soon?

im suprised you taken back by this nvidia formally announced all manufacturers ofr their cards will cease and decist making cards of the gts/gt/gtx 200 line exactly 1 month before the gtx/gts 400 , gt 300 series arrival. and ppl are trying to pick up the last good savings before they jsut stop getting sold outright. the gtx 280/285/295 are essentially all but sold out the gtx 260 is or will shortly be sold out and the gtx 275 is running low in supply.

Why would you upgrade from a 8800GT to a 260? its not that much of an upgrade, save up and wait for Fermi or HD5xxx series.

8800GT to GTX 260 is quite a big upgrade 57.6 --> 111.9 GB/s bandwidth http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_Nvidia_graphics_processing_units

I'd go with gigabyte, my gtx 260 has been kicking ass for a while ( though i will upgrade soon anyway). Gigabyte overclocks it from the factory clocks a fair bit and there's a 10% increase in performance i think, 6 months warranty as usual as far as i know. Also, it comes with anaglyphic 3d glasses and a bunch of other stuff.

well i am a proud owner of a gtx 260 and i would suggest you get the EVGA one because it has a lifetime warranty, i managed to swap mine for 150$ last year, and its amazing for OCing. but dont get the regular EVGA one get the SOC edition or the SSOC edition because those come preoverclocked and had better cooling.

I bought a Gigabyte. It comes overclocked at 680mhz and it costs the same as the EVGA card which is at 576. They had another Gigabyte card that was $30 cheaper and overclocked to 650, but they stopped selling them because the profit margins are much better on the super overclocked card.
