I think this is a great time to open this topic since a lot of new MMORPG's just launched like Age of Wushu, Neverwinter, Ragnarok 2, Scarlet Blade (lol) and more...
Before people start jumping to rashional conclusions like "it's based on player preferences" or any other trolling I like to say that, sure different players like different type of MMORPG's, but this is not what this topic will be about.

This topic is about gathering as much info on all current avaliable MMORPG's and comparing each other to determine what more or less they offer. Things like enjoyable combat to class choices, immersion, endgame features and pace of content updates. We currently have more choices than ever when it comes to MMORPG, but because of this I believe the market is scattered and we are seeing a lot of MMORPG's but with reduced quality than what I used to remember playing before the WOW era.
Anyways, if you are playing any MMO that doesn't force monthly sub your welcome to share to the community what exacly it offers. So I'll start...

Last MMORPG DCUO (After it was Path of Exile, but that doesn't really qualify)
Lift of things I can think:
Great graphics, almost fully voiced with a great IP. Innovative and enjoyable combat system, instanced arena type PvP, raids (operations), alerts (daily dungeons). As you can see it's the typical WOW clone minus the rated battlegrounds and a dedicated site for ranking. It has crafting and beautiful cities to explore and do side things like feats (achivements) that actually making your character stronger. It has some seasonal events, but yea that's as much as I can think of atm.

For a free to play player the cash limit can be problematic, but it's bearable. The new content (DLC) cost like $10 I believe and it's optional, which is a good thing to be in control of what you want to buy. I definitely look to check it out again once Origins come out next week. I've truly enjoyed the game over a long period for spending far less than what I remember in WOW.
Now I also started kinda Neverwinter, but haven't put much time in it to give my imput on it.

I play a lot of Guild Wars 2, and while a lot of people don't like it, it has a lot of content and it puts out fun monthly updates that are pretty fun to dive into.

It's only a one time buy game, and no subscription fee is needed.

You try Guild Wars 2 ? Damn great game. Great combat, great visuals, huge world, nice character development and it actually touches the RPG part of MMORPG. It's crafting system is awesome, PVP is very good. 2 or 3 modes of PVP my favorite is the Open World ( forgot what its called ) where you take over castles, bases and such . Battles last weeks there until reseting. Combat is fluid and very action filled. I don't know if I could say anything bad for it. Very well optimized game, although I can't run it fully that's why I returned it mostly. Great guild system. That's basically it. Great MMORPG and one of the best today I assure you of that !

GW2 has everything P2P MMO players brag about, without any cost beyond that of actually buying the game, down to free monthly updates that add new content.

Does it count if you have to buy it first?

The Secret World is amazing. I hate playing with people and most of TSW can be played alone. The setting, characters and quests are better than in most offline RPGs. The combat is really unsatisfying at first but as you unlock new skills it becomes pretty interesting. It's based on complementary abilities and it's really fun to mix and match the hundreds of them.

Right now I'm subscribing because I want to keep it alive as much as possible. However, a free player isn't missing much. The only subscription benefits are 10 dollars worth of store credits monthly (which can be used to buy expansions too), a 10% discount in the item store, free cosmetic items every month and a 1 hour bonus enemy XP potion which replenishes every 16 hours.

Maybe some of you have heard of Dragons Prophet. Besides GW2 i think this is one great game ! Imagine a world like WoW has and the similar combat WoW brings tu us. . Now add in Pokemon and all the features that go with it ( training them, collecting them etc. ). Now just replace the Pokemon with Dragons. There. You've got Dragons Prophet. A game where you collect and train dragons. Of course there is more than that. There is a pretty well developed story. Housing system too with the ability to form some sort of villages. It's from the creators of Runes of Magic which is pretty darn epic. Sadly it's still in beta, but I think they are having a stress test right now so everyone who wants to try it has the opportunity now :)

It all depends on what you're looking for in an MMO. I would say the top 3 (that I've played) would be Tera Rising,GW2 and Star Trek online, atm I'm DLing Neverwinter to try that out.

Having fun with Neverwinter right now. It's like Tera but with less open world and more story. Def has better quests than Tera. Tera has the cool BAMs but that gets old after a while anyway.

Nice to see someone enjoying TSW. It's a very good MMO. Love the atmosphere and environments. It's something different than what other MMOs are offering.

Unfortunately, EA/FUncom customer service is crap though.  I haven't played the game for more than 90 days so I go through the verifiication process and it says that my game cd-key no longer matches the account information I have on there.  Yet I can log onto my account on the website.

Just typical EA side of customer service and business practice sucks but it was fixed after several email exchanges..

I third this. TSW was a pleasant surprise and it hurts me not having enough time to dedicate to it. Great underrated MMO.

Mmhmm. Just be glad you don't have time to dedicate to a heavy time-filler like an MMO though. I just played basketball for 5 hours lol.. felt great though.
