NFS: Most Wanted was pretty fun online. As of right now, TrackMania Nations Forever is #1 on my list. Its free, its fun to play, competitive, and much more.
Havent really tried any others online. Burnout Paradise is coming to PC, and I'm sure that game is going to rock. For now though, TMNF is the clear winner =D.
Try Race Driver: GRID, just came out last week I think. Very fun, its harder than Trackmania though. The online is pretty good, it can get competitive.Matt60276789
Grid is a competition at the start of the race. You and the other good players have to avoid hordes of kamikaze noobs that crash all over the place and the final test is the first curve in the circuit, that's the goal of all noobs. After that the game is pretty much drive good and follow the one in front, because if they are good and they manage to get in front of you, you won't catch them.
Drift is the favourite mod for noobs, drift is a competition from start to finish, drift=kamikaze nobs. Noobs tend to have kamikaze urges when driftting because kamikaze is a Japanese word and it means divine wind and they think that they are cooler if they kamikaze all over the place, they think they have an advantage or something.
Get Grid, watch out for noobs and enjoy it :) it's a good game.[QUOTE="Matt60276789"]Try Race Driver: GRID, just came out last week I think. Very fun, its harder than Trackmania though. The online is pretty good, it can get competitive.DanielDust

The new patch put in an option to turn collisions off in multiplayer games, so the noobs can only crash themselves into the wall. But it takes out some of the fun when you just go through the other cars like in Trackmania.
There's also a pretty good free to play multiplayer online racer called Project Torque. There are micro-transactions in the game but they are not necessary as grinding (in the form of winning races) will get you the same stuff, just not as quickly. You can earn new cars and parts (cosmetic and upgrades). Only downside to it is the cars are unlicensed.
