hey everyone,

I wasn't sure where this topic should go (sorry in advance mods).

Anyway, what is the most comfortable office chair you use? And I'm talking ergonomic comfortable, not lazyboy-sink-in comfortable. I have good posture and I would like to maintain it. I have an ergonomic keyboard and mouse, my monitor and tray are at optimum levels, but my seating quality seems to be lacking a little bit.

It isn't terrible, but it isn't the best.

So I want something that's comfortable for extended periods of time. I'm talking 3-4 hour gaming sessions with appropriate 15 minute breaks squeezed in there.

There might be "gaming" chairs out there.... but I basically just went to an office furniture sales shop.....sat in lots of chairs (office manager chairs) and chose the most comfortable one. I can even watch 2 hour long movies on it very comfortably....

I've tested a lot of chairs in my days and I haven't come across one that makes you feel comfortable like a recliner chair. I could never find a computer chair that can even come close to being that comfortable. I know you can't use a recliner chair to PC game. That wasn't my point. I'm simply saying (sounds complicated now doesn't it?), that a lot of these chairs suck. Ranging from simple computer chairs to executive leather ones.. none of them are comfortable. Not even those $400 ergonomic ones. Is my ass too big or something? I'm very lean though.. I either slide off a chair or fall off of it. Over time, the cushion starts to deflate pretty badly.

I'm using this $200 office manager chair and it's pretty crappy now. I had to modify it the other day. Took out some cushioning from it and added my own touch LOL.

I know I'm not of much help. Maybe I'm just trying to say, you need to sit in it and try it out. Don't order online. This isn't something you can determine by looking at pictures. Do what FelipeInside did.

If I could, I would grab a Racing Seat (like the one in a modified car), and use the bottom part (legs with wheels), and attach it to the Racing Seat. That would be super comfortable. Now if someone could make something like that, with an affordable price tag.

Gaming chairs? What's next, gaming shoes? Just go look at chairs and find one that feels right.

Gaming chairs, gaming desks, gaming ANYTHING is for people who have extra money to spend. I'd rather upgrade my CPU or GPU instead of spending 200 bucks on a friggin "gaming" chair. :

any office chairs should be good gaming chairs :P the priority is comfort.

if it's hurting your back or butt after 1 hr of sitting down, then it's probably not good.

i've had my chair since for 4 years now and it's still very comfy.

PC gaming and being comfortable is a fairy tale. It won't happen.

Comfortable and gaming = playing consoles ... usually ...

hmm guess if you were using a wireless controller with your pc and playing certain games you could be comfortable on your couch doing so but in regards to playing games that require kb and mouse things will always be the same with that and you will be uncomfortable

A comfortable one, lol? Just find one that suits your posture, and that'll be good for a PC gaming chair.

Nah, its adjustable, drops right down to the height of a standard chair. (has a standard gas strut like any other office chair). It forces you into correct position when seated and the fact its variable position (tilts forward or back) its always in the most comfortable position for the height vs distance. the seat is soft and the edges are actually flexible so it doesnt cut into you at all like other stools.

Oh man, my university has those in one of the study rooms. I end up like swinging all over the place without noticing. It's great.

I use since the last five years a italian Flendit Royale, it cost me around 400 € but was well spent money:

My previous chair was a cheap 50 € office; I break it sinking back while watching a movie.

I've got one of these. It's really cheap and really comfortable. Pretty perfect in other words, if you ask me. Couldn't find it on the US version of the website, though..

Me too, i find a good office chair much more comfortable than the majority of sofas. Just go to Staples and try them out, in generall avoid anything which dosn't support your entire back and head if you're looking for something comfortable.

Wow. This was an overwhelming response! Thank you everyone, especially you, JaySC. Serta makes great stuff. sorry if I wasn't very clear by the topic thread. I wasn't looking for a chair SPECIFICALLY for gaming, I was looking for one that compliments my posture and can allow me to use my computer in greater comfort, regardless of what it is I'm doing on the computer. The chair for people with bad backs would be terrible for me because I NEED armrests, but thanks for the recommendation anyway!

Funny this thread gets necro'ed. I've been looking for a nice gaming chair. Well, doesn't have to be designed especially for gaming, but a nice comfortable chair. I've been looking at one by Lexmod and Flash.

Lol. If you're on carpet, it will definitely be a workout. I'm seriously thinking of going to a junkyard and buying an old car seat, take my the stand and wheels on my current chair and drill it in. Car seats are so comfortable.

That isn't a bad deal if you're currently using a stool jk. Not a bad price. Does your a$$ slide when you sit in that chair for a while? Nothing worse than a chair that slopes down, especially after years of use.
