and if you're looking for hardcore sim, rFactor and its mods is great. For sim/arcade mix, I'd go for GRID or DIRT2.

If you're more into the arcade type than sim, Burnout Paradise.

I loved GRID so much, but I am enjoying Dirt 2 now. Its georgeous and fun. As someone else said Burnot is a great deal right now and is still really fun if you like that fast paced action. NFS shift isnt bad, but I enjoy the others listed more.

FUEL is great non-ADD, open outback fun and CrashTime 3 has excellent missions with top notch graphics.

Dirt 2, and if you want sim as f1 said, rFactor is good. I played GTR2 really, but they are really similar. (They use same engine base)

Dirt 2 and/or GRID. BLUR looks fun, so I'm waiting on it.

My personal favorite is still the F1 Challenge '99-'02 from EA back in 2003. That game stole quite a few years from my life...lol

Trackmania United Forever, Dirt 2 and Grid.

If you want simulators then GTR Evolution or Race On.
