Hey guys, I know alot of people have been having trouble with the 19xxx series and getting frustrated, but I found the one driver with the most clarity and has nearly no bugs and will give you a HUGE performance increase.

187.66 XG

Here's CoD4 Benchmark that somebody else did.

I just finished some benchmarks with CoD 4 now that everything seems to work right.
Resolution was 1920x1200, 4xAA and max AF set in game, full detail, FoV at 75.
The scores are with supersampling transparency AA enabled and ambient occlusion. Three missions, "The Bog", "All Ghillied Up" and "All In", were used for this test.
The Bog, act 1 mission 3:

XG 190.62: min 56 max 62 avg 58.9
NV 191.56: min 62 max 73 avg 66.1
NV 191.56: min 62 max 73 avg 66.3 *hardware change
NV 195.39: min min 66 max 77 avg 70.2
XG 187.66: min 90 max 117 avg 100.8

All Ghillied up, act 2 mission 2:

XG 190.62: min 56 max 75 avg 66.9
NV 191.56: min 48 max 53 avg 50.7
NV 191.56: min 48 max 53 avg 50.5
NV 195.39: min 51 max 55 avg. 52.9
XG 187.66: min 64 max 73 avg 68.0

All In, act 3 mission 2:

XG 190.62: min 48 max 52 avg 50.2
NV 191.56: min 42 max 46 avg 44.5
NV 191.56: min 43 max 46 avg 44.6
NV 195.39: min 44 max 48 avg 46.5
XG 187.66: min 57 max 62 avg 59.7

I have a weak system, overclocked 9500GT, 4 GB RAm, intel core 2 duo 2.0 GHZ

Bad company 2 at 1680x1050

High settings 16x AF no AA medium shadow quality, everything else is maxed out at DX 10.

Constant 30-40 frames. Loving it. So I recommend everybody to download these drivers if they have not. Performance increase in bioshock 2, BFBC2, TF2, and MW2

Okay, why stop at 195.39?

What about these WHQL nVidia drivers:

195.62

196.21

197.13

197.45

Agreed. I'm running 197.45 on Win 7 64-bit, without problems.

I like this little note in the Release Highlights:

It reads: "Adds override anti-aliasing support for Mass Effect 2".

Just because one driver works well for you on your computer, doesn't mean it will work well for others. With my 8800GTS 512 cards I ran in SLI, for the longest time only 182.50 drivers from Nvidia worked and they worked like a charm. It wasn't until driver 196.21 came out that it gave just as good of performance. All drivers in between (even beta drivers) caused so many headaches: games wouldn't launch, cut scenes wouldn't play or played very poorly, many graphical glitches, poor performance in games that ran well before and many more issues. It's great that you found a driver that works well for you. My suggestion, don't stop using it until you come across future games that don't run well; then look into changing your video driver. In other words, don't fix it if it isn't broke.

I am currently using 185 because i had fallout 3 issues, bt now i got issues with borderlands, i guess i have to install those drivers. God damn it, its riddicilous to switch old drivers all the time to play recent games well because the latest ones are crap.

I'm using 197.45 in conjunction with ATI's 10.3 on my Hybrid PhysX rig. I have an HD 4870 X2 + 8800 GTX for PhysX. Works wonders for Sacred 2, The Scourge Project and bench apps like FluidMark.

I'm reinstalling Crazy Machines 2 atm through steam. I also have a few other PhysX titles including Metro 2033, SilverFall, GRAW 1 & 2, Mirror's Edge and Batman:AA.

Unfreaking believable. :( Nvidia has screwed the pooch on this one....seriously, what the hell? drivers should above all make sure that there are no such issues.

Not to come off being a prick but why don't you show them how to code for drivers that work across the board flawlessly for all known video cards out there, to operate in all known applications. This is why they have so many drivers for video cards because not every single new release will function well with every single computer configuration out there. Hench the idea of "if it isn't broke, don't fix it." Yes, sometimes you might go a great length of time before you find new drivers that functions well for you. When this situation does arise, feel free to contact Nvidia. Give them your computer specs, let them know the issues you're having. I did such a thing when I went for nearly a year with my 2 7600GT cards in SLI did not work well with any new video drivers released. The next driver they released resolved most of my issues, then the one after that I had no more problems. Just an idea.

Ill try but i dont think my preys will be heard. But seriously the whole drivers thingy is kinda crap nowdays. For example, i select 9 series and this comes up: "This is a WHQL-certified driver for GeForce 6, 7, 8, 9, 100, 200, and 300-series desktop GPUs and ION desktop GPUs." Why did i even bother to select. series? I just dont get why they got to wreck older games, eg: fallout 3 has massive issues for many users with 190.
