If you're determined to game on a plasma TV, I would opt for 42" Panasonic (the smallest available size for a 1080p plasma).I'm looking at a panasonic st30 and wondering which size to buy since I've heard of it's badass pic quality and price but I have a normal sized room (like 12x12) so I was jw which model should I pick up

If you're playing games on a console, most games will display in no higher a resolution than 720p and the bigger the TV, the worse it will look.
If space is an issue you could try wall mounting, but for a tv that size the bracket would be expensive.
Go with the biggest t.v you can afford with that sized room especially if your going to be sitting a full 12' away from the screen cause at that distance you really should be looking into a projector or big screen DLP T.V altough even if your going to be viewing the t.v from alot closer unless your going to be sitting less 7' away I wouldn't even consider going smaller then the 60". The only reasons to go for a smaller t.v is you lack the physcial space/money or your viewing distance is small enough to not need a huge t.v to fill up your vision like at a desk or in a smaller room.

Wall mounts are very cheap especially compared to the price of a large t.v. This is what I use and its a very sturdy wall mount and can easily support my weight(around 170 lbs) even while the arm is extended out which is alot more then most t.v wiegh.

I say 60", since that's what we have. Great quality, and it's not that much smaller than the 65". Price jump wasn't worth it IMO.
Buy the biggest size u can afford, tv's do shrink a little when you getthem home unless you have a really big screen like 60"+. I had a 60" LG plasma but has been replaced with a 64" samsung and its fantastic for gaming, GT5 in 3d in the cockpit view is almost like being sat in the real car:D
Did you say 12x12 feet kind of room? I just eyeballed mines and is roughly there with 8ft from my computer to the screen. Currently have a bang for buck 40incher and I think the size is perfect but bigger doest hurt either for my dimensions probably 46" tops though. Its hard to say unless you place this in a living room than Ill say big as possible but in a small room than itll be like watching in a theatre at the front row with 60"+, yuck :\
st30 has buzzing issues. It varies, but it is there. People have told me that the larger models are worse because they use more power, but I don't know if that is true or not.
What size you should get depends on how far away you plan on sitting. No point getting a 60" tv if you're only sitting 3 feet away.

A TV is an investment though. It isn't something you upgrade every year. In this respect, sometimes it makes more sense to go larger, as it potentially offers you more options down the line.
The bigger the better. I currently game on a FULL HD 106" screen with a projector. and it's absolutely incredible. Impressing casuals and techies alike isn't that simple with a standard HDTV, but with a screen this size, I always turn heads.
so if you can afford the 60 inch.. get it! My living room isn't that big so I'm sitting 10 feet from this 106" and its fine.
A projector is different though since having a 100" tv would look horrible to most people and dominate the room. The bigger the better. jsut picked up a 60 inch st30. used a basic color meter for calibration. PQ is very nice for the price (1099 on sale). played a few games, but had to sit back a little further because of the big screen size.I'm looking at a panasonic st30 and wondering which size to buy since I've heard of it's badass pic quality and price but I have a normal sized room (like 12x12) so I was jw which model should I pick up

My dad liked to see 15 feet from his 50" lol. I sit 10 feet from my 106" which is pretty much standard. 50" are meant to be 1.7m so about 5 feet from the screen.I'm looking at a panasonic st30 and wondering which size to buy since I've heard of it's badass pic quality and price but I have a normal sized room (like 12x12) so I was jw which model should I pick up
