gigabytes new windforce looks bad... 5 fans[QUOTE="MonsieurX"]MSI>Gigabyte>Asus Awesome coolers.ionusX
Yeah, I remember seeing that. I was wondering why they didn't just stick with a pair of larger axial fans around 92MM or so. Either way, the card's gonna take up 3 slots, so it's not as if they're saving any space by using a set of 5 40MM fans:?
ASUS
EVGA
XFX
SAPPHIRE
In that order.
After a few bad experiences with some manufactors, I tend to stick of one of the 4 above. the top two generally with NVIDIA Chips and the lower 2 with AMD Chips. I tend to cycle between Nvidia and AMD each time I buy cards, altho I ultimately prefer the Nvidia cards from ASUS and EVGA over the AMD cards from XFX and Sapphire.

i believe in the market standards. anyone who vilates those never gets my money. as a result i will NEVER buy anything from:
palit, sparkle, biostar, foxconn, or pny

Care to elaborate on "market standards"? Im a evga guy but I was thinking of going for "those" guys since its cheaper for my new upgrade.

they have been caught numerous times paying quality control to turn a blind eye. while your welcome to use them here are my experiences thus far:biostar was caught 2 years back putting a gt205 with a 240's bios in a box and selling it as an actual 240 (when it was still losing to a 9400gt in benches). this year sparkle was caught making a gt440 that couldnt even beat a gt420 and pulling the same stunt biostar has.
ive personnaly witnessed poor quality control on the part of palit. i witnessed a new in box 9800gt fall apart during an in-store unboxing for a customer.
foxconn doesnt make gu's very often. but when they do they often both price them poorly and dont give them any real care or attention. as a result lifespans are poor and rma is poorer
finally PNY while they have made good gpu's and some folks swear buy them. EVERY other variety of part they amke sucks. so idk i jsut get bad vibes due to brand association. their ram stink, their other hardware stinks. their gpu's got me all shook you dig.
Right now I'm favoring Gigabyte. They made a serious card with the GTX 560 Ti SOC. The cooler is pretty much silent and it runs very cool.

Agreed I like Sapphire because of quality and cooling.
I only ever buy from EVGA..which kind of limits me to nVidia cards. Thats ok, they usually do better in the driver side of things then AMD/ATI.

I guess you really do "get what you pay for". Looks like my plan of going cheaper just went out the door. I like evga and have been using them for a while now but, they're just so damn expensive. I'll just suck it up and pay for quality and services. Thanks for the info because I would've not known and bought a half-arsed card.

I'm not impressed with EVGA's quality. I've had 4 or 5 EVGA cards, and it's been hit or miss. Much more impressed with Asus and Gigabyte.
What the hell were they thinking. :|[QUOTE="C_Rule"]I like MSI and Gigabyte because of their proper coolers and reasonable pricing. [QUOTE="GS550L"]

I think they've went hunting for the smallest person they could find to hold that card. Or is she actually 6 foot and the card really is as big as it looks? ;)
ASUS used to be my favorite when it made the ViVo cards. I had an ASUS AGP GF4 Ti4200 followed by a PCI-E X800XL, both ViVo enabled.
Once ViVo disappeared, I just kind of wandered from manufacturer to manufacturer.
I also prefer HIS. My son has a HIS 6850 which has run flawlessly, while I have a HIS 6870. It is really hard to say though. I still have my Asus hd6670 that ran with no issues and my other son's EVGA nvidia gtx460 run's without a hitch. I just try to avoid those that I hear a lot of bad stories about. I heard Power Cooler was cheap and not reliable. I don't know how valid that is, but I've read it on several reviews,so I'm a bit cautious on them. I've also seen more than a few people complain of dead cards from XFX and having to wait forever for rma's. In the end I just like to buy whichever seems like a good deal, has pretty good reviews, and then judge for myself.Whats your fav manufacter mines EVGA or Saphire followed closely by Zotac

I know my Gigabyte mobo is running flawlessly, but I've never owned a graphics card by them, although I would buy one if the price was right. They have a nice 6950 with dual fans that I've been looking at.Right now I'm favoring Gigabyte. They made a serious card with the GTX 560 Ti SOC. The cooler is pretty much silent and it runs very cool.
