Thanks, and how has the 4850 512 been working for you? I wish i had waited another week and gotten the 3850 512 instead of the 256 but that's what i got and now i'm thinking of just getting another one so i can do crossfire.welroon
its workin awesome, huge upgrade from my old 7950 GTX KO, teh 3850 512 is a bit better, but the 256 aint all taht bad...
Thank you so much. This was really helpful. Just wanted to be sure. I personally think the Realtek sounds great with my 5.1 speakers. Thanks you all for taking the time to reply to my post.:)welroon
Yeah, the onboard sound cards come HD now. All you really need are some nice speakers. Save yourself $50-100 and spend it on something nice, or save it. And, you're welcome. Enjoy.
Btw, your avatar rules.

Microsoft's Windows team made the bold decision to rewrite the Vista audio stack from the ground up, and in doing so they removed hardware acceleration for DirectSound. That's right. They took hardware support away from the most ubiquitous sound API implemented in games over the past several years.
As a result, in many of today's games, all those feature-laden sound cards, with their multiple channels, audio extensions and hardware accelerated processors, become no better than on-board sound running in software mode.
I thought everyone knew that? I dont know if they have changed this, I bet Creative is not happy.
