I wonder what the circumstances leading up to you needing to shoot police will be.C_RuleHe just wouldn't let go of that man purse the squad commander wanted for so long.
I wonder what the circumstances leading up to you needing to shoot police will be.IantheoneCorrupt police? Being in enemy territory and the cops go against invading Us forces? Its feasible. That's what I thought of, but you would think if the police were corrupt, it would be included in the notes, as that has an impact on the morality of the situation.

They didn't fix those bugs from the BETA so the soldier thought the police were enemy combatants....
Huh, this sounds a lot like the No Russian missions from MW2 in purpose, and I can't see reasoning for US soldiers to be able to shoot police. Unless its an instant fail deal and can still be done, but fail.
Knowing EA though, they just love starting controversy just to set gaming back a few notches in the world of entertainment by caving to the tiniest of pressures to remove said controversial thing they made just for the purpose of controversy.
But I don't want to turn this into an EA hatefest, and I'm sure there is valid reasoning behind it.
Is this chick getting shot?

I can see what you did there =)
PS yay finally made 100
hmmm not sure how to take that. But Im guessing it will be a bit more tasteful than "No russian". And yes people will always draw similarities.

Meh, they were zombies in L4D2 but they were still taken out.
I don't get the issue.
There's a single player compoenent featuring a "Scinematic" story telling arc.
Do people complain that the latest die hard movie has civilians being killed? That dirty cops are blowing stuff up? That cops get killed in just abotu every bank robbery movie ever made?
This is a game for adults... or so I thought.
I wonder what the circumstances leading up to you needing to shoot police will be.IantheoneCorrupt police? Being in enemy territory and the cops go against invading Us forces? Its feasible.
You play as a Russian character in some levels iirc, so you might be playing as the invading force at some point (I'm assuming the USMC are allied with the French during the campaign, so Russia would be invading)
Corrupt police? Being in enemy territory and the cops go against invading Us forces? Its feasible. Another guess could be something to do with special forces going after the nuclear bomb, and police getting in the way of stopping it. A sort of sorry state of affairs considering BF2's factions made a lick more sense then trying to create another implausible cold war gone hot in the near future between these nations.

I wonder what the circumstances leading up to you needing to shoot police will be.IcyToasters
I still cant fathom why these things get attention when it comes to video games. Ive seen and heard far worse from the movie and music industry and yet no one ever complains. okay maybe a little for music but really never for movies and i have really seem some sick and twisted stuff especially since im a horror fan. I recently saw a movie where a man was sodomized by a shotgun but i dont see people crying all over the place about it. Plenty of cops have been killed in movies too its almost a past time.
The only reason this gets attention is because negligent parents actually have to look into the games they buy for their kids which is a little too much work for them.

- spoiler that cannot be quoted because GS is awesome -

All depends on the context. If it's another No Russian then DICE managed to hit the stained cesspit of video game storytelling. skrat_01
I don't get the hatred toward videogames that follow similar "controversial" aspects that books, television and movies do all the time. Double standards suck.
Hmm...weird. DICE said they are trying to avoid conterversy in Battlefield 3 by having no civilions, no political or religious conflicts, etc.
http://www.destructoid.com/battlefield-3-not-aiming-to-be-controversial-205322.phtml
Also if anybody watched Battlefield3 footage that was released recently on GTTV Patrick Bach said there will be political conflicts between Iran and Iraq region.
