is that the official driver or beta?[QUOTE="lawlessx"][QUOTE="seanmcloughlin"]
Huge difference right? It's actually bloody playable now

320.49 is an older driver from a few weeks back. Newer drivers suck balls and cause constant stuttering on my 670. It's basically unplayable with the new beta drivers
its the opposite for the 780. Beta drivers are good, anything else was terrible.I see a similiar fluctuation on just a single card. My lowest dips arent anything like yours though. Lowest I spiked from memory was around 60 - 70% IIRC from yesterdays gametime. Will check again later today when I play to see if my memory serves me well.... enough.Latest video drivers and SLI and this is my performance...
As you can see, it's not close to stable. It's unplayable like that.

https://twitter.com/repiThe #BF4 PC beta is a beta, not all graphics options are hooked up or tweaked yet and performance is not final. But please do test the game .... but graphics at release will be better and/or faster so you should be good
Now I seem to be getting a lot better performance having v-sync on, in all settings except Ultra I get 30-50FPS on average with some drops into 20s on High, while Ultra is 20-35 on average, and I'm using different drivers, I'm pleased right. Either way what an improvement.
Highest VRAM I seen so far is still 2.3GB VRAM though.
Who else has a simlar setup to mine?
GTX670 FTW
i5750 OC'd 4GHz
8 GB RAM
Anyone have something similar and any solutions to making it run better?
I'm close... i5 750 OC'd to 3.6 GHz GTX 760 8 GB RAM The in-game automatic settings pust everything at High, except textures which is as Ultra. I average around 30-35 fps but really its all over the board, it plunges up and down a lot. I'm on the beta drives and have tried two previous drivers to no avail. I've tried lowering my settings and it seems to have no impact. If I try turn on multisampling, my fps plunges to single digits.Who else has a simlar setup to mine?

I just turned off thread optimization and it took away 90% of the stuttering. A lot more playable now haha. Thanks.Fixed my suttering by turning back on hyper-threading for my GPU (3770k) and turned OFF Nvidia's Thread Optimization for BF4 in the Nvidia control panel.
Worth a shot.

Did that and my FPS went from 10-15 (With stutters) to 30-40 (With stutters)
never drops below 35 fps, my CPU usage is very high on my i7 920 at stock speeds, like 90ish% My GPU usage is quite low though on my overclocked 7870 ghz, like around 60% usage only im running at 1080p, with everything on ULTRA but 2x MSAA instead of 4x MSAA
i have gotten those very low fps drops though a few times, but rarely that happens and is really because of the CPU usage issue and the beta not fully utilizing the graphics card
how do you do this? set it to high priority?setting BF4.exe to high priority did wonders for me, was 20-50 fps before, now im at 50-90 fps with slight stutters. mostly just netcode lag.

How bad are the sutters? Mine still stutters a bit but it's not longer unplayable.

It's playable but it's not the fun type :(
It's not long until the game is released anyways. I'll be able to play it perfectly well then.
[QUOTE="Chris_53"]I have the 1.28GB GTX570, AMD Phenom X4 955 3.7GHZ (overclocked) and 8GB RAM. Should I just play this on my xbox360??? RevanBITW
That will still run BF4 better than the X360 will. But I'm guessing the Xbox One would do better though.
Yep, im guessing that too. The catch 22 being that it would be cheaper to by the Xbox One than it would be to upgrade my PC to run the game at that standardI don't know if this has alread been discussed, but between me and my 3 friends who have been playing the beta, we have found that Windows 8 is a LARGE part of why the game runs good and running it on Windows 7 is why it runs poorly. I am sure things will be getting better for Windows 7, but people should definitely keep this in mind when having issues.
Even better with windows 8.1 which has a free preview right now. Ultra 50+ fps on a gtx 580. Compared to Win 7 my GPU usage was locked at 99% while on Win 7 it would bounce around like crazy.I don't know if this has alread been discussed, but between me and my 3 friends who have been playing the beta, we have found that Windows 8 is a LARGE part of why the game runs good and running it on Windows 7 is why it runs poorly. 3.6GHz Phenom II X4 + 1.1GHz Tahiti LE = 35fps average on Ultra...superclockedsimilar to what i am getting with my setup, not the Tahiti 7870 though, the regular 7870, oced to 1130/1330 mhz not sure whats going on, i have HT turned off on my 920, i heard HT might increase performance, havent tried it yet though
so AMD Mantle will basically alleviate overhead and lighten the load on weaker CPU's? xboxiphoneps3That's the idea. It should have benefits on both CPU and GPU ends. CPU can make more specific and less expensive calls, allegedly increasing the amount of draw calls substantially (9x?). Also, graphical effects can be optimized down to the instruction which can squeeze more work out of the chip. As of now though, the game eats CPUs for lunch.
Didnt try the beta but heard it gives some probs with unstable or low frame rates from my friends..
I'm gonna wait 2-3 weeks after the final game gets released so that any issues/bugs might be solved and then I may experience the proper BF4 :) !!
I am getting 15-25 fps on ultra. I had to tone down to medium low even then it was 20-30fps. however in map with no players i was getting 60fps on ultra settings
@lostrib: what they need to do is actually have servers with admins and modorators to spectate and boot hackers like they should. That's why I hope there are some good private servers to keep an eye out.
8320/7950/8gb here on Windows 8.1. I capped my framerate at 60 via radeonpro, and it stays between 20-60fps depending on whether I'm admiring the scenery or getting raped in a fire-fight. Settings are 1920x1080 all ultra(noAAorpostAA)SSAO...where the hell is HDAO?
