Describe the biggest adreneline rush you've had while playing a game. just name the game, then describe what happened.

for me, it would be the first splinter cell. it was one of those missions where you don't even get a gun, and you can't kill anyone. i got off an elevator, and there was a guard walking around the corner. before he came back, i needed to pick the lock on a door nearby. i ran up to the locked door, picked it, and just as i was opening it the guard game back around the corner. i scooted into the room, turned off the lights, and climbed into a vent on the ceiling. it may not sound like much, by my heart was pumping faster than if i had just run a marathon.

Oh yeah the beach landing at mohaa for sure; when that first came out that was freaking intense. Recently, I'd say playing FEAR alone in my house...I'm a wimp.

Far Cry - after the fifth level, each time I "detected" another mutant. That game has some really impossible design - tons of enemies that own you in just one hit, and checkpoints too far apart.

Stalker - when I heard THAT monster, if you know what I mean... And those parts when you just have to leg it to safety. Especially the one near the end.

System Shock 2 - most of the game kept me under pressure. And the damn monkeys!

For me it would have to be a game in socom 2. It was a clan match and it was the last round of the tie-breaking game, and I was the last one alive and there was two other people alive on the other team. I killed one of the other people with a few minutes (or what felt like a few minuets) left on the clock. I remember the rush I was feeling during that minute or two was unparalleled. I remember that I could literally hear my own heart beat, and feel my blood coursing through my veins. I wanted to prove myself in that clan so badly. The clock ran out before I could find the other person and we went into an overtime round. I think we lost, but I was alright with that because at least it wasn't completely my fault for losing.:P

I am and old timer (33) that used to play Ultima Online back in the days.

For me it was when I camped the deed sellers in town and whole guild came in to buy a castle deed. Well, needless to say my GM thief had a great time picking out decor for my new castle.

I stole plenty of deeds but having around 7 packs (snoopin) open on the screen at one time looking for that little piece of paper was indeed a rush, not to mention getting away with it.

Bringing a hard working guild to its knees within seconds = priceless.

For me it was probably farcry; I was about midway through the game trying to get across this small bridge(with a firefight going on between the mutants and mercenaries),and I must have gotten killed about 10-20 times. I still remember (with my heart in my throat) getting past the last guy and wondering when the darn autosave was going to kick in-great moment.

By the way I just got Splinter Cell(loved Pandora Tomorrow),so I'm going to start at at the beginning.

Serious Sam First and Second Encounter. I know it's going way back. But the incredibly massive arcade style battles were enough to bust any adrenaline meter.

oh yea, socom had some incredibly intense moments. hardcore tactical games can get so intense because you die just like that, and you need to be on the ball completly. another huge rush i got was playing penumbra black plague, when you give the guy a saw so he can cut off his hand and give it too you, then bursts throught the wall while you are left to run around a small room with nowhere ot go and this guy chasing you. that was easily the scariest momeny i've ever had in a game.

For a PC title, there are a couple: playing StarCraft online and the old Relentless RPG where you would discreetly sneak by people at some points of the game. But where I've really felt it: Assassin's Creed and MGS4 for my console

oh man how could i have forgotten. the first time i launched a nuke in world in conflict. it was a beuty. i saved up 80 ta, then placed it over where i thought the enemy was. right before it went off, the enemy unites in there area were shown, and the area was a bright red with all the enemies. i got a huge score from that hit, and a huge adreneline rush. you get huge rushes in that game whenever you place a larger ta, because you have to wait in anticipation to see if enemies will move in or out of the area where you placed it.

CoD2.. let me explain.

My old clan and me had a cal match, it was overtime and it was the last match in S&d our plan was to send one guy (me) to A bomb and the rest to B.. if they were going A, they would flank around while i held them off, if they went B they would get mowed down. Well the other team must have has wall hacks or something because they threw all of their nades in B house and killed the whole team except for me.. So im freaked out thinking its lost.. then i see all of them coming down A street so i decide to flank around them through the middle.. they start to plant the bomb while the rest of them look towards cellar, i come up from behind two of them with a pistol, headshoted them both and ran away. the other three were near the bomb guarding it, so i sneaked around axis spawn (this map is carentan) through the ally and got one with a tommy and ran away again.. time is running out so i decide to charge them if i had any chance of defusing the bomb. I rush up to them from middle, get one with the tommy right off the bat, reloaded and charged the second guy who decided it would be best to just run away and let me try to defuse the bomb. So i try to defuse the bomb (only 15 seconds left on the timer), he comes around the corner to try to get me, i see the timer is at 11 seconds so i stop defusing and mow him down.. Then as fast is i could i went back to defusing the bomb.. the defuse bar was going exactly with the timer on the bomb.. then Boom... the bomb goes off.. ive never been so scared of an explosion in my life.

if you play at night with the lights off, your not (just one mission without that little girl would be fine...). for me its the end of hl2:ep 2 were you have to stop the striders with those odd, gravity gun activated weapons.

I am part of a special operations flight of fighters going behind enemy lines in unknown space to get a report on Shivan operations. I initiate my jump drives, and when i get to the other side "DIVE DIVE DIVE"... You'd have to have been there to understand. Anyone who's played Freespace 2 knows how epic that mission is..

Probably the first time trying to beat the Gargantua to the generator in the first Half-Life. The sounds of him chasing you and the increasingly noticeable earthquakes caused by his paces was extremely unnerving.
