I have a pretty old computer with a PTGD1-LA Grouper motherboard and I've been trying to see if I can find a way to get the LGA775 socket it has to support Core2Duo processors with a bios upgrade.

Now, I have no problem getting a new motherboard completely, but I'd really like to get this old one working like that you know? I love tweaking. In any case, I'm looking at this:

Type: BIOS Version: 3.28 (10 May 2006) Operating System(s): Microsoft Windows XP File name: sp26760.exe (1.2 MB)

Does anybody know if it would support Core2Duo processors? The website there says it updates the bios so it supports newer processors, but I don't know if that would include the Core2Duo architecture as well.

By the way, is there any scan or program to test for processor compatibility, or just generally get bios information?
