I'm currently trying to run the game on a toshiba laptop with an nvidia 8700m gt graphics card equipped. I get passed the opening crash sequence in the game and then right after the Bioshock logo comes up the screen goes blank and the game crashes. The only way for me to exit is through the task manager. Can anyone help me out or know how to solve this problem. I've been trying to find drivers for this card but none seem to work! Thanks everyone!

BTW, I'm running windows vista ultimate 32bit

It might be an in-game issue. Try running the game in DX9 or Windowed Mode first.

You can download the windows vista hotfixes and see if it helps from here.

Also you can download the latest beta drivers From here. BTW that link contains your card the 8700m.

I dowloaded the windows hotfixes and tried again with still no luck. The second link you gave with the beta drivers also didnt work. Those drivers dont contain support for the 8700m gt from what I saw!! Thanks though!

Anyone else know something that might work or know of a solution?

thats the problem with the laptop vid cards. the manufactuers dont always fully support them. try going to toshiba and see what they have for the latest update.

I am having the EXACT same problem with my 8700m GT.... on my vista 32 bit Toshiba Satellite..... I bought Bioshock 3 days ago and all I want to do is play it.

what I've tried:

contacting 2k games

contacting Toshiba

the nvidia website

modded drivers

playing in direct 9x

nothing has worked for me.I'm so desperate to have this work.

my problem is right after the opeing scene after the Title, it goes toa black sceen, or if it's windowed it will automatically close with a vista error message. whoever else have this problem, we should all stay in contact--- several heads is better than one!
