I Had no idea games for PS2 were still being made...

What they won't tell you is DX11 mode will take months to patch before even high-end rigs can play it at 10+ FPS(this possibly may even be the case for DX9 mode as well) :lol:GamesRadar:
Throughout the campaign there will be moments where decisions could potentially affect which characters live or die and change what events occur in later missions. We?re not exactly sure how these decision-events will play out or if there will be a Mass Effect-like Paragon/Renegade series of paths, but events and character relationships will be greatly affected by those specific moments. Rather than having a completely linear story campaign, Treyarch is taking a choose-your-own-adventure style approach with a branching storyline. Some elements of the story will also change depending on the performance of certain levels in Strike Force.
Strike Force takes Call of Duty to the sandbox, forcing player choice and changing campaign events depending on performance. These missions take place away from the main characters but utilize a Black Ops SEALs team to carry out the objective. Players will reach these missions in the campaign, and then are given the option of which mission (out of several) they can take. You don't have to be "succeed" to move on, but the result will affect the story.
Kotaku on Strike Force:
The missions play out over large, sandbox-y levels, which will call on players to use tactical thinking and creative problem solving to an extent we've certainly never seen in the corridor-happy Cal of Duty franchise before. It may not hit the heights of a true Tom Clancy game (particularly not a GRAW game), but it's still a big shift.
The map I saw seemed quite a bit larger than an average multiplayer map, though nowhere near as sprawling as a large Battlefield map. As you play, a series of varied, narrative-driven objectives will roll over the map.
Players will have the option of hopping between the flying Quad drone, the CLAW tank, another armored mechanized tank, and any of the members of their squad. It wasn't confirmed whether there will be more units available than that in the finished game.
DX11 confirmed

Does it involve shooting everything in sight and blowing up lots of things :) *sarcasm*i don't think they have grasped what a black operation actually is, lol.

Game would be so much better if it actually embraced the whole covert black operations thing.

What features could DX11 possibly bring to such an outdated engine, it will just make the weak areas of the visuals become even more apparent, IWEngine needs to be abandoned for something better, it's completely ancient.GamesRadar:

It does, and so did the first one. Black ops doesn't mean Sam Fisher. "An operation that is so planned and executed as to conceal the identity of or permit plausible denial by the sponsor. It is intended to create a political effect which can have implications in the military, intelligence or law enforcement arenas. Covert operations aim to fulfill their mission objectives without any parties knowing who sponsored or carried out the operation. It is normally financed by government revenues but in this age of super-empowered individuals and corporations they could become a common tool of power beyond traditional war and diplomacy."

Quake 3 engine:P
A DX11 renderer is faster than a DX9 one with the exact same visuals.

Hehe oh ofcourse, I'm not implying it has to be something along the lines of a stealth game like SC, but... to directly quote your quote "Covert operations aim to fulfill their mission objectives with any parties knowing who sponsored or carried out the operation" Lets just stop and think for a moment about everything we saw in that trailer, the amount of explosions and large scale destruction assaulting us in the face really does not help us feel as if we are apart of anything remotely related to a covert assignment, and the gameplay will reflect this. There is nothing clandestine about this at all.[QUOTE="Baranga"]What they won't tell you is DX11 mode will take months to patch before even high-end rigs can play it at 10+ FPS(this possibly may even be the case for DX9 mode as well) I played Black Ops day 1 with 50-70 FPS, I never had a problem running any of the Call of Duty games.GamesRadar:

I had trouble with black ops long after its launch, it would dip down into the freaking 20s at times. Stutter sometimes when you zoom in and go to shoot. (high settings, low settings, resolutions changes)
Was not an issue of hardware either. Some rigs it would run good, other rigs it wouldn't. No problem with any of the Modern Warfare games though.
My gf's rig, about the same as mine, but a little newer with a weaker gpu. It ran much better for her.
For me on a quad 3ghz, gtx 570, it ran like crap. I didn't even get around to the single player because of how hit-or-miss the optimization is with random hardware it seems. I might try the single player in the future, see if drivers helped at all, have been several updates in drivers since I last tried the game. Though with singleplayer the dips aren't quite as game breaking as it is in multiplayer, unless it is constant. So I guess I could complete the story incase 2 is any good.
The graphics look terrible and, seeing as how all CoD games are similar, updated graphics is about the only reason worth picking this game up in the first place. The worst, most blatant cash-grab of the genre to date.
Yep, damn you people that buy CoD games for other reasons than graphics. The graphics look terrible and, seeing as how all CoD games are similar, updated graphics is about the only reason worth picking this game up in the first place. The worst, most blatant cash-grab of the genre to date.

Yea coz people dont ride horses anymore do they.................HORSE RIDING?! what is this assassin's creed or cod? dear god........

That's a pretty big and lazy mistake on their part. Funny, because the very reason I didn't even give MW3 a chance was because it looked like it was oddly jaggy and ugly. You guys are aware that in MW3 you have to set Image Quality to Native, not Extra, right? Extra upscales the console resolution lol
On Native the game is very pretty.

So the entirely new content isnt a reason to pick up the game? The graphics look terrible and, seeing as how all CoD games are similar, updated graphics is about the only reason worth picking this game up in the first place. The worst, most blatant cash-grab of the genre to date.

Agreed. Especially since BO was somewhat heavy on the characters, i would have loved being forced into doing something you don't want to do (killing many innocents) and given a choice whether to do it, and if you don't you either kill a teammate or get killed.Especially since BO was somewhat heavy on the characters, i would have loved being forced into doing something you don't want to do (killing many innocents) and given a choice whether to do it, and if you don't you either kill a teammate or get killed.kris9031998
MW2 did this and everybody raged about the actions while ignoring the context.
