12 million strong...dang that's a lot of people!

Lots of people have claimed they have been bleeding members, but it seems they have been growing after some set backs initially with the whole china situation.

World of Warcraft's Subscriber Definition

World of Warcraft subscribers include individuals who have paid a subscription fee or have an active prepaid card to play World of Warcraft, as well as those who have purchased the game and are within their free month of access. Internet Game Room players who have accessed the game over the last thirty days are also counted as subscribers. The above definition excludes all players under free promotional subscriptions, expired or cancelled subscriptions, and expired prepaid cards. It surely is a lot, but I cant help but wonder their revenue must be down a lot. 3 years ago it was at 11 million and the article said the increase was due to China getting WoW. China definetely doesn't pay $15 a month. They should break down the number by regions. I bet N.A., Europe, and Aus have all declined.

Agreed, i think cataclysm will bring back at least another 1 million at launch. Ang grow if its a good expantion.

I got sick of it.....after 5 years. I bet most of the people currently playing were not in it since the beginning. Its probably still somewhat new to them.
