It won't be a StarCraft MMO, that is for sure. Most likely it will be a Diablo MMO, one that builds off what Diablo II did and make it better. StarCraft wouldn't really work as a WoW type game. And the game they will be working on won't be similar to WoW in any way, they'd just be shooting themselves in the feet...

True, Starcraft couldn't work the same way WoW does but what about a Starcraft MMOFPS, that would probably work.
is there a chance itll be an MMOFPS? like you'll have to build your characters as terrans and wage war on each other while fending off the protoss and zerg?

Check out dungeon runners. ITs basically what you want except theres an excellent sense of humor, the game refuses to take itsellf seriously and its great :D
And on the topic.....Starcraft MMO or a new IP. Im hoping for the new IP, maybe something like hellgate london but a full MMO, thatd be so sweet.
Whatever the game may be, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Diablo 3. It's the next logical step for Blizzard. WoW is doing great with over 10 million members and a new expansion is coming out so they wouldn't release something Warcraft related. Starcraft 2 is in the works so obviously something concerning Starcraft is out of the question. The only possible option left would be a new Diablo game. I seriously hope they don't turn the Diablo franchise into an MMO like some people are saying. There has been a recent drought in good hack n slash RPG's recently and I think it's time for a new one. I played Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction for 3 years and in my opinion, nothing has come close to it in terms of overall greatness.
I would love to see a MMORTS where each player has ist own planet in a massive universe! and then you could team up or fight alone against other players and attack their planets! with huge bases and defense turrets, etc..
I can't imagine Blizzard is working on a new MMO right now. Remember that speech where the one guy (sorry, i suck at details) said they have 120 people working on WoW, 40 on Starcraft 2, and another 40 on project three, which is apparently awesome. But how could project three be a MMO with only 40 developers, considered WoW has over 100, to make a new MMO they would need alot more than 40
I thought Diablo III but then this is going to be brand new IP, maybe a new genre? Really though, how original are Blizzard games? They are designed to be cloned clones of original art and games. I dunno, I really put my expectations too high due to the over-hype surrounding their company.
With all that money they're rolling in... I hope they start something new and exciting.
Probably the best thing they could do from a business/financial standpoint is port WOW over to the consoles. They already have the most popular game out at the moment, and that would only make it more popular. Obviously the PS3 and X360 wouldn't have any issues running it. But I'd be willing to bet you could even get it running on the Wii, as WOW is pretty old at this point, and was never a particularly resource heavy game. On top of that Blizzard seems to be able to optimize games better than just about any other company aside from Valve.
The first company to port an MMO to consoles will make a killing and subsequently possibly bring about the beginning of the end to PC gaming. Slap a keyboard and mouse to a PS3 and whats the diference? Already Intel and AMD are talking about making cores for specific functions. I could see in about 5-7 years or so there being cores designed just for gaming that will probably be used in the next generation of consoles as well.
I am still holding out hope however that there will be a Starcraft MMO. I'd like to see another space based game that has a mix of planetside and space ship combat that is done right like WoW was.

My guess is Starcraft. Diablo would just take users from WoW. Both would have the same style of gameplay, and some are even the same classes. Starcraft 2 is coming out soon, and that would set the foundation for a Starcraft MMO. Also with games like Tabula Rasa and Mass Effect coming out, I thought they might take that style and perfect it for a Starcraft MMO.
