Hey I have a bluetooth headset and I want to use it for online gamming but I am not sure if the bluetooth headset is compatible with any games. Does anyone know if I can use a bluetooth headset in games like Flight simulator X or Battlefield 2142 or Battlefield 2. I havent bought a reciever yet but I dont want to if I cant use them in those games. Can someone help?

Yes you can use your bluetooth headset with your PC and games. You have to set it up as a mic and headphonethrough a bluetooth profile in XP or Vista first. There are many sites that explain how to do this, just do a google on it. Once thats done pick your voice chat program of choice and use as normal. Your PC will just use it as a regular mic and thats it.

***EDIT***

Thought I'd point out a simple drawback. Bluetooth headsets on the PC tend to invite static more often than not. Make sure you dont have your case open while in use as it permits stray RF noise that will cause even more noise. You may find that a standard gaming headset with a boom mic would be eaiser to workwith and less prone to static. Plus you wont have to recharge it all the time. It may take a few more years before the PC games market starts getting wireless headsets like our console brethren as a standard use item.

I know this is a really old posting but I found this problem to still be a big issue especially with Windows 7 PCs.

One thing to add that I found really helps the static is attaching any external dongles to a USB extension and moving it away from the PC. This greatly reduce my static and made my BT headset useable!
