Sorry to burst your bubble but have you heard of iTunes? Or ebooks? Can you sell the music cd you bought there? And it's the online features you get with the cd key, just like all other online games. You can still sell the game and play the singleplayer right? I don't know if you can run the game without steam but that's what I suppose. If not you can just make a new account for your precious borderlands key and give the account information when selling the box... You know, having a brain to think like that helps

The only noteworthy extra is the ability to export weapons. That was awesome in Spore.

Better graphics and proper interface aren't bonuses, they're requirements.

And what would the consolites do with a benchmark?

I agree with you for the most part, but I think we should still be thankful. There are big name developers who are porting games with the same exact interface that the console versions utilize.

Gearbox put extra work into this version, even if it's simply minor things.

From what I hear the opposite is true, the consolized interface remains, and even contains graphics for XBOX buttons

I'm really starting to despise consoles, they are ruining gaming and dumbing down kids in the meantime.

we're talking about online games. and IMO a GOOD online game. or so it appears. My point is he's complaining because he can't buy/sell games that have already been activated in steam because the cd-keys are useless. You stating that "they should sell good products that offer added value" uh... what? thats illogical. it's like saying "if they threw in the bonus speaker system, i wouldn't have sold by car 5 years after buying it. All i'm saying is Developers see no $ from used game sales. Why on earth would they support it? and why would anyone who whines about Piracy on PC's hurting developers and the PC industry complain when they can't resell or buy used games? Piracy doesn't help PC gaming. Buying selling Used PC games doesn't help PC gaming. and yes. Both are Legal in some parts of the world.Nibroc420

Car companies don't see any profits from used car sales, yet Ford can't restrict you from selling a car you bought from them 20 years ago. Just because a company doesn't see any of the profit from their product being sold second hand shouldn't give them the right to prevent those sales from happening. If PC developers want to keep their profits up, they should expand their business model instead of focusing on preventing used copy sales. I guess what I'm getting at is this: the company I work for would have gone bankrupt years ago if 100% of their income came from selling new product, why should the PC gaming industry be any different?

That said though, I don't see why people care so much about retail copies of Borderlands using Steam. Games with online capabilities have had some sort of DRM for a long time - whether it be CD keys or using Steam - so buying used copies of these games always seemed stupid to me anyway. Sure you might have saved $20 by buying a used copy of Diablo 2 a few years ago, but what good would it do if you can't play it online because someone else was still using the CD key?

No matter how many video feeds or screens I view, Borderlands essentially just carries dead weight for me to share any interest.

We, as a consumer with a voice, should never EVER stop using it. Yes, it use to be a requirement, but now it is not a requirement because many of the PC gamers stopped using their voice. They stopped demanding the necessities of a good PC port and the publishers gave us crap ports. I don't know about you guys, but if I am going to drop as much as $50 as a sign of appreciation for the developer's work, then it better be good. It should have had PC-centric features in the beginning. Those are not goodies, those are necessities that someone finally had the brains to put in again. I will look more into this game now that they have these necessities, but I don't think there are much "goodies" to talk about. The ability to save a JPG of your gun? Why the heck would I need that? It is a useless gimmick.
