Don't know about the early problems of Halo: CE (apart from the good reviews), but thousands still play it every day.

[QUOTE="F1_2004"]Is Borderlands one of those new post-apocalyptic games that sprung out after the Fallout revival?Baranga

It was announced in 2007, but there were rumours about it a lot earlier.

They had been working on the design since 2005 about the same time as fallout 3 initially went into design from Bethesda, they only revealed it to people 2 years ago in 2007 when they had something to actually show people back when it still had the original art style.

As a huge Halo CE fan, I thought Gearbox BUTCHERED Halo for the PC. Sure, the single player was mostly intact, but the multiplayer was utterly broken. We finally got online multiplayer for Halo, and it turns out to be an unoptimized and laggy piece of crap.

I'm still traumatized.

Really? I thought Halo mp was awesome. I mean, it was identical to console, only with mouse and keyboard

You didn't experience the terrible netcoding? I mean, you have to shoot at least 10 feet in front of someone to hit them; it was so laggy.

I NEVER had these problems when playing Halo PC, it was the best version in the series in my mine...

[QUOTE="MorbidToaster"][QUOTE="mrbojangles25"]

wel, I still donjt know how the Borderlands experience plays out

Is it a linear game? (like Halflife 2)

iIs it sandbox? (like Oblivion)

Or is it a hybrid of the two? (like Mass Effect)

I am refering to the campaign, not the gameplay

mrbojangles25

I'd call it very Mass Effect-y progression. You can go to the different places and you can choose different paths, but it's not a huge preloaded map.

cool!

so is there a main campaign and other random (though ultimately pointless) missions?

Also, how long would you estimate the main campaign?

I think there's like...30 missions in the main campaign and 120 or so side missions? Thing here is, if you're not doing any side missions, don't buy the game. Doing the main campaign, you'll never get high enough to hit level cap. This game is about loot, leveling, and side missions. Main campaign is a good probably 8 hours or so, but you should spend about 18 in your first play.
