Is it possible to have a good enough gaming PC for $1300 with a Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse?
I'm on a really tight budget. Thankss !
EDIT: Or should I just get a gaming laptop? cause $1300 sounds like a little for a gaming rig, right?

This recommendation looks great, but I would consider another gaming mouse, Razer Deathadder:
http://www.amazon.com/Razer-Deathadder-Precision-Infrared-RZ01-00151400-R3/dp/B002Q4U5DK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1304581217&sr=8-1
I would highly recommend another version of the GTX 570, its cousin, The Twin Frozr:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127564&cm_re=gtx_570-_-14-127-564-_-Product
The price difference is about $30, but the Twin Frozr is going to run a lot cooler than its reference design counterpart. With a HAF 922 case, you should have great airflow.
Some things to consider.
True. The deathadder would be my best recommendation if you're a palm-rest mouse user. For that price, you're not going to find that many mouses that will be better. Keep in mind, it's more geared to gamers with larger hands. If you are a "claw-er" then you might want to look at the Logitech G9/9x.Honestly, he should find his own mouse and keyboard because those can only come down to personal preference.

Yea, i like the death adder, i got the mamba though because i wanted the wireless because i have to run my cords from the side :( and i put alot of drinks and stuff on my desk.
As for keyboards TC i advise you get a mechanical if you dont mind loud key typing. I woulda got the dragon age 2 keyboard, but it had 2 on it and the second was too much of a disgrace to buy it.

Thanks for taking your time to put this together!! :D
I have one question about the processor, would this be a better one? or is the AMD superior.
Intel i5 2500k - Sandy Bridge
and also Thanks for everyone contributing, you guys are most deff a big help. :3

Yes, the 2500/2600k are the best CPUs for gaming. Everyone agrees on this. However, the price of a 2500k + an 1155 mobo is going to run considerably higher than an AMD build like the one suggestion. You could put more emphasis on your cpu/mobo and get a cheaper GPU to stay in your price range but if you go that route don't expect to be maxing every game out graphically.

I guess I'll have to make it a $1400 then? is that enough?
I'm glad we could help, and who's that girl in your avy/sig?

Haha, she's a K-Pop star named IU. Have fun.
EDIT: the girl in my avatar is named Goo Hara & she's part of a group named KARA

Yes it is.
Replace the Phenom II X4 965 and mobo I linked previously with these:
i5 2500k (don't forget to claim the $10 discount :P )
MSI P67A-G43 mobo
New total: $1394 USD

You are still getting the gtx 570 at that price since you bumped it up $100. So yeah, you wont need to upgrade for quite some time really.

This. It's really going to come down to your GPU and how it will handle games. A GTX 570 will do just fine on stock. And if there any majorly demanding game out there, you can overclock it.will this be able to max some games?
edwardorito
Hint: i5 2500k + GTX 570 = high-end.
You will be maxing many many games :P
[QUOTE="ilikedrit"]$1300 is not really budget ....Elann2008It actually is when you need a monitor, keyboard, and mouse. If the TC already had those at hand, I probably wouldn't consider it "budget" build though.

Uhm, just one more question haha.
Should I buy from Newegg or a Fry's nearby?
edwardorito
Whichever is less expensive imo. You don't have to buy all the parts at the same place :P
Do I need an Anti-Static wrist strap?
gahh sorry I'm asking so much questions. I'm such a newb T^T
edwardorito
Do you NEED one? No.
I always just figure it is a one time purchase and only costs like $5, so why not. I use it from time to time when building, but in reality when I am just doing simple upgrades or working on something I don't even think to put it on. Haven't ever fried something with static. Use common sense and be careful and all will be fine.

I personally find them unnecessary however they aren't a bad investment given their price. For first time builders or for infrequent builders they are probably more of a help psychologically (reducing nervousness).
I will make the following changes to the build as it seems like you are not on a very fixed budget.
Monitor = $300 (drop that keyboard if you have to but dont skimp on monitor, you can get a better keyboard latter on)
GPU This is a better card than GTX 570 as it has more VRAM so it is better ready for the future. And it does NOT run hot at all and the PSU selected is fully capable of handling it. I see no reason to go for GTX 570 over this. In current games there isnt much difference at all but there could be more in future due to GTX 480's much higher memory bandwitch. This is a sick deal trust me, grab it while you can.

Disregarding the monitor recommendation, gettting this GTX 480 really isn't a bad idea...
I'd get this GTX 480
I saw a comparison video between the 570 & the 480 and the 570 own. Is this 480 a special kind of 480?I will make the following changes to the build as it seems like you are not on a very fixed budget.

And yes this is a special 480 as it is overclocked and solves it's biggest drawback, the temps with the dual fan cooler.
The 570 seems to be a bit better in the less demanding games whereas 480 seems to perform better in the more demanding ones. Either way the difference is insignificant BUT the GTX 480's much higher memory bandwitch will ensure smoother framerates in the most demanding games. And it will also last longer.

Yeah thats a great set up. 1300 isn't really a budget but the monitor and all that kinda puts a ding in the costs. BUT that set up still is kick ass. Pretty similar to what I got on the core gaming components (cpu ram gpu)Definitely this. Even a $30 Asus Xonar DG will do wonders for headphone use and even for your 2.1-5.1 speakers. It's like night and day over onboard sound. I could never go back. Of course, I would rather you buy a better sound card unless your needs at the moment are practical due to your budget cost.Geez, don't you want some quality audio too? Add a sound card and a pair of monitors + sub (optional). Or if you want there are also some great headphone/amp options.
NVIDIATI
[QUOTE="edwardorito"]I prefer Newegg. Definitely Newegg.com. Their service is exceptional. I would rather wait a few days for delivery then to shop at Fry's, which has crappy return/exchange service. Well, at least the Fry's I go to in Burbank sucks major ass. Their customer service is awful.Uhm, just one more question haha.
Should I buy from Newegg or a Fry's nearby?
