Of course there are other parts that are cheaper, but doesnt mean they are better. You can make the computer 450$ and make it run COD4, but I can asure you, you'll be upgrading the computer very soon.
Can you reuse a case? If not get one for $20-50 4GB - $80 P43-45 mobo - $90 DVD- use an old one if not get a $30 SATA Corsair 450W- $70 E7200- $120 Spend the rest on a GPU, 8800gt/9800gt/HD4850.
