I am building my first rig ever, and I know you guys must get one of these types of threads a day, but how will this setup perform? Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks

It looks fine to me.

What PSU are you going to have? It's the only thing I can't see on your list.

Looks good. Personally I'd go with a better brand-name on the PSU (not that I have anything against Rosewill, but with a PSU I'd want the peace of mind you get with a brand like Antec, Corsair and Seasonic) and I'd spend the extra ~$40 or so on a 6870 (or at least go with a better brand than Powercolor), but there certainly isn't anything wrong with your picks.

DO NOT go cheap on the PSU. This is the one place where you cannot go cheap.

Spend the extra $10.

the amd 955 just recently had a $15 price drop. So now it costs $132 per 1000 units. Newegg hasn't updated the prices yet but my local computer store has an "instant savings" for 3 days promotion for..,..you guessed it $15 lol.

I have a better build. This system will run everything you throw at it on 1080p. It will last you a long time and if necessary you can upgrade the videocard in a couple of years. You won't have to upgrade the rest.

Case

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E1681114715355$

psu http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E1681713901970$

cpu http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115067210$

motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128437110$

Ram http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231277 50$

Hdd http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136769 50$

Optical drive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827106325 50$

Videocard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814103085 185$

This build is much better. It will last you longer, it will perform better today. This system will last longer than you It's about the same price, give or take 10$. I don't know about the shipping costs though. You can use some parts from your build for less important stuff . The things you need to keep from this build are the cpu, psu, ram and videocard the rest you can change. Greetz

if it's the same price he can get the i5 2500k but i wouldn't want him to have one of those faulty 1155 sockets that's why i didn't consider it.
