The Caviar Green drives are mostly designed for low power consumption. They aren't great performers. You should either go with a Caviar Black or a Seagate 7200.12 instead.

I wouldn't trust EVGA for motherboards. They make great video cards but that's about it. I prefer straight from Intel motherboards. They're about as stable and reliable as you can get. My Bad Axe 2 is still working great after three years, and the support for it with driver and BIOS updates has been phenomenal. I'd suggest looking at an Intel P55 mobo and going with a socket 1156 Core i7 instead.

I don't know what to tell you about DX11 cards. You could go with the ATI 5xxx series, but I'm not a huge fan of AMD/ATI, and I would probably still go with a GTX 260 at this point.

Everything else you picked looks great.

Everything looks great, you could pick up the 5870 now, or pick up a cheap 4890 or GTX260, and wait a bit for dx11 cards (the 5xxx series are still new), or wait for nvidia's GT300's.

Building opinions are like you know what- everyone's got one, and someone else will always claim they stink. For that reason, I don't scoff at what people want to buy. My opinion is to buy slightly behind the technology curve, because you'll get good price to performance ratio out of the deal. In your specific case though, I would highly recommend going with at least 1000W power supply, especially if you plan on going two or three way SLI. Expecially with the Ge 2XX series cards. I was looking at getting a pair of 260's for SLI, and decided to just go with a pair of 9800 GTX+'s because they only needed one power connector each, and I didn't need to start investing in more PS wattage.

I will say the Antec 900 is about the best damn case I ever ran across, and I've used about a dozen or so different ones. Never again. I'll always build with this baby. True heat dissappation at its best. You won't be disappointed in your choice there. Watch out for the top 200mm fan when putting in the mobo though. That's the only downside to this case is that it doesn't have a removable mobo mounting plate thing. I can't remember what they call it technically now. The power supply mounts on the bottom, so you'll want a PS that has a fan on one of the big surfaces so that you can face it up into the case. I have twin 120mm fans intake from the front, 120mm from the side in, 120mm in the rear facing out, and 200mm at the top facing out. Really keeps it cool.

A 32MB cache HDD is good. Never get anything less than a 32MB cache. You want all the parts working with as much throughput as you can get. Makes no sense to get a fast processor, ram, and then a 8MB or 16MB HDD cache. Creates a bottleneck...

I'd question whether more than 4GB of ram does any good. Might just be wasting cash. I've never seen my usage go over 3GB that I can recall, using Vista 64bit. Then again, I don't know how much its using during games. Maybe it's worth it...

Your choices look good. I also recommend getting a Caviar Black over the Green. EVGA X58 SLI LE mobo is a good choice. For video cards the 5870 is the top single gpu card out right now. If you want to wait before getting a DX 11 card then a GTX 260 or 4890 are great choices. You get good performance for low cost. An 850w psu is good enough for SLI/Crossfire with 2 cards. If you want 3 cards then you will need a 1000w psu. I will recommend getting a full tower case, like a HAF 932, for the better airflow. If you plan to overclock then you should get an aftermarket cpu cooler. Intel cpu cooler isn't good with overclocking. Some popular cpu coolers are CM V8, Scythe Mugen 2, and Xigmatek Dark Knight. The Prolimatech Megahalems and Thermalright Ultra Extreme 120 are the 2 best cpu coolers but are a little more expensive.

Top tier motherboards manufacturers are Asus, Gigabyte, and MSI.

Okay, let's check this out:

Case is good

CPU is good.

Mobo is good. Although I'd go for a Gigabyte or an Asus, personally.

Switch the HDD to a Caviar Black, or as Marcthpro and Daytona_178, get a Samsung F3 1Tb. HDD's tend to be a major source of bottlenecking, so you'd want to reduce that as much as possible.

Memory, I'd say switch to these. They're the same speed, lower timings, and cheaper. In other words, better in every way :P

Keyboard is good, albeit a little overpriced. If you can get over going for aesthetics for your keyboard, I'd suggest getting this one. Reviews aren't too bad for the keyboard, and it is cheaper, which will save you a bit more cash for another component.

Mouse is good.

Speakers, well, they look good... :P Don't really know how to determine their quality.

Blu-ray drive, that thing is ridiculously overpriced for a blu-ray reader. Just get an internal one: Link

DVD drive will get the job done.

Monitor's good.

Now, that cpu cooler. Long story short, horrible for the price. I'd suggest the Xigmatek Dark Knight or a Scythe Mugen 2.

Overall, good idea, and with just a few tweaks, you can get a very good one.

The Antec 900 actually ranks pretty low in my books. Of nearly all the cases I've worked with, it had the worst ever cable management if you had a standard-cable-length power supply. Plus, it was slightly too thin if you wanted a side fan with a 150+ MM heatsink, and slightly too short in both height and width.

Not to mention there wasn't much room to incorperate a all-internal watercooling loop (unless you do some drastic case mods).

/end of rant. :)

Can I suggest to also look up the items on tigerdirect.com or any other website you like. Sometimes the price differences do make your wallet not get so light while getting the same product. Also I'd say only go for two sticks of RAM for 4g, thats all you will need.

Also forgot to mention, Ive recently built a computer and got me an EVGA Nvidia GTX 260, http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?Sku=E145-0264. This piece of hardware has made my day in price and performance. Runs all games and applications smoothly plus I have my 32" Samsung tv hooked up and it looks alot better now. Sorry if the link isn't clickable my browser is going whacky.
