Hi so ive never built a gaming rig, i don't really know how to start or how it works, i mean I don't know if you order the parts from a website that assembles it for you or...

My budget is between $1600 and $2000 MAX. Also if its possible to fit the nvidia titan in there that would be great.

if i were you, i would start with an i5 4670k cpu and a z87 motherboard. also get high bandwidth mhz ram if you go with the z87 motherboard and new intel cpu combo - it's part of the reason you would want to go with an intel haswell/z87 combo.

don't skimp on the graphics card and the monitor because those two things will determine (more than anything else) how good of a gaming experience you get. the graphics card because it's what will power your games, at high fps with everything maxed out and at higher resolutions, and the monitor because you're going to be staring at it all day long. i would go with a 4gb nvidia graphics card (like a gtx680) and an asus 23 inch (2ms response time) monitor.

don't skimp on the power supply. if you get a cheap power supply it will probably cause you all kinds of problems (dirty fluctuating power) and some might even blow out and/or catch on fire. i like corsair and seasonic (80 PLUS GOLD)

get a very good cpu cooler. you'll need it when running games for extended periods of time so the cpu doesn't overheat and crash to desktop or fry your motherboard.

get the cpu from microcenter for $199.99 http://www.microcenter.com/product/413251/Core_i5_4670K_34GHz_Socket_LGA_1150_Boxed_Processor

i would buy everything from newegg except your motherboard and cpu. get the motherboard from amazon (way better return policy if you get a defective one). get the cpu from microcenter (way better prices on cpu's from microcenter). newegg is great for everything else - i buy A LOT from newegg.

if you price everything out and intel is too expensive then go with the amd fx-8350 cpu based system. if you go with amd don't go with anything less than fx-8350.

this might help. http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/partlist/

I don't feel like going through the trouble of giving you exact links and such but I can outline it for you.

MSI/Gigabyte/ASUS Intel Z87 Mobo

Intel 4670k CPU

EVGA Nvidia 780 Gfx card

Corsair 850W Power Supply

Samsung 840 Pro Solid State Drive

2 TB Hard Drive

8GB 2133 MHz RAM

Good CPU cooler(e.g. Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO, Noctua water cooler. Corsair H80i)

This is what you should be aiming for. But if you're only going to be using one 780 and have no intention of adding another you could drop down to 650W psu

do you already have monitor and mouse+keyboard? also, remember to add Windows to your order, if you need one. people usually forget to add these when it comes to a first-time builder :)

My rig cost me around $1,200(USD) from newegg.com *see below* can play basically anything. However, being that you have a higher budget then i have i would have got a higher Graphics Card and bigger hard drive. *have a 3TB external for all my file working* My mobo allows me to easily to overclock if you wanted and i have gotten my CPU to 4.2 without ease and i have seen it done up to 4.7. (Just giving idea and showing what your money could really do)

For the last time, that CPU bundle IS IN STORE ONLY (theres not alot of stores so you have to note that its in store only or your going to confuse someone)

This is the 3rd time I have explained this to you and yet your still not clear with the people your trying to help (you need to say "if you fortunate enough to have a microcenter then get the CPU/motherboard bundle with them").

Thats alot less confusing then saying "oh hey, get your CPU here"

looks good. You might want to think about a bigger motherboard in case for future upgrades (another GPU for example)

Don't get a GTX 680 (they just released the 700 series but havn't lowered the prices of the 680 thus its overpriced).

You can get a superclocked version of the 770 for $429 or wait for the 4GB edition of the 770 to come back in stock (the 4GB edition is $450)

thanks for the tip, and also I still have like $200 left in my budget, what could I fit in there to improve the setup? I want one to run most games on ultra or at least very high.

wait... you didn't order yet did you? the asus p8z77-m [z77] motherboard (LGA 1155) is incompatible with the haswell (LGA 1150) cpu . haswell i5 4670k = LGA 1150 socket all z77 motherboard(s) = LGA 1155 socket if you buy a z77 motherboard (LGA 1155 socket) you also need to buy either a sandy bridge or a an ivy bridge (LGA 1155 socket) cpu. if you buy a z87 motherboard (LGA 1150) you need a haswell (LGA 1150 socket) cpu.

also. i don't see the ram on the compatibility list for the asus p8z77-m motherboard.

http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA1155/P8Z77-M/P8Z77-M-QVL.pdf

if you go with that motherboard, i would go with this instead. it's a few dollars more, but well worth it. IMO

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231426

maybe think about getting at least an h80 cooler instead of the h60. but really i'm not sure i would go with anything less than the h100 or h100i TBH.

you could save some money with a different case as well.

All I recommended was you add a couple of words (such as "if you have a microcenter near you") and now your basically saying no thanks/theres no reason, all for no apparent reason....... (why would you NOT want to be clear with an already confused user, this is a help forum after all......)

I changed it to mastershake's suggestion http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130645, is it compatible now? Id rather have a single 8gb than 2x4gb running on dual channel.

the motherboard you have on your list is incompatible with the haswell processor. you need a z87 motherboard. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007627+600438202&QksAutoSuggestion=&ShowDeactivatedMark=False&Configurator=&IsNodeId=1&Subcategory=280&description=z87+motherboard&hisInDesc=&Ntk=&CFG=&SpeTabStoreType=&AdvancedSearch=1&srchInDesc= when you pick the motherboard, go to the manufacturers website and they will have a list of compatible ram for that motherboard. i suggest gskill ripjaws x ram the h60i isn't going to cool the haswell cpu good enough for gaming IMO. you need at least a h80i or preferably a h100i

Yeah thats a good motherboard (supports overclocking and it supports dual video cards so you have the option to buy another gtx 770 a few years down the road when the prices are super low). The Ram that comes with the motherboard is of course compatable (they wouldn't bundle parts that don't work together). The ram is DDR3 1600

Its a great bundle for the price (Your getting a nice motherboard with $60-65 worth of ram for $155).

If it's a single stick you will want to buy another soon for dual channel, but in the real world it makes little difference.
