Bungie considering Destiny PC version....do you care?

I have no plans on buying another console....ever. But I am kind of curious about this game.

Bungie's all-new shooter Destiny may be released for PC, though the developer is not ready to confirm anything just yet. Speaking with IGN, Bungie senior writer and community head Eric Osborne said developing for more platforms means more work and Bungie is unwilling to develop for one platform at the expense of another.

"We haven't said yes, and we haven't said no," Osborne said. "The more platforms we take on, the more work it ultimately becomes, and what we don't want is to compromise the core experience on any platforms. We have a lot of people who play on PCs. We have a lot of appetite to build that experience. We haven't announced it yet, but we're looking forward to talking more about that kind of stuff in the future."

A PC version of Destiny previously appeared on Bungie's website.

Destiny will be a multiplatform game, launching on next-generation platforms like the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, as well as current-generation systems including the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Asked if save files will be transferable across platforms, Osborne said currently there are "complexities" that must be resolved to make it possible.

"For us, [platforms] are purely agnostic," Osborne said. "Any data on our back-end servers and services, like Bungie.net, are ours. We control it, we can do a bunch of fun stuff on that side. So for us, we want to absolutely do the right things for players. But there are some complexities we have to solve that are outside our control. But we're absolutely pushing to solve some of those things. We dont have anything to announce, but hopefully in the future we will."

Considering that I'm probably going PC-only in the future, I really would like to see a PC version. I think that if they did that and embraced modding, we could see a lot of good stuff, especially with how the lore is so far with Destiny.

yeah I think it has elements of an MMO but it's not a fully fledged MMO. They use the same kind of multiplayer system as TDU2

It would be nice to have on the PC but I'm not going to be disappointed if it doesn't make it.

We get games like Firefall and Planetside 2 for our big, MMO shooters. 

I'll start caring when and if it is actually released on PC (as long as it's any good that is). Until then... no.

I'd say, yes.

If it wasn't for MS buying them off, the PC/Mac probably would've been the lead for all of Bungie's games. Bungie started out as a Mac developer (then PC) in the first place.

THat'd be nice.  Halo were/are great games, so I have high hopes for Destiny.

You're right about Halo 2. However, I still remember the hoopla about Halo. That game was very far along in development with its release imminent for Mac/PC. There's no question on whether Bungie could've done the port themselves. The code for the PC/Mac version was already there. Of course, I also the remember the sudden news blackout on Halo and the collective shock among gamers when MS was mentioned. Funny as heck though. :lol:

I would love to be able to play Destiny and if there not making a PC version than that ruins all chances of myself ever playing it.

Yes, the fiction and world seem interesting, but if it is not for the PC then I will pass it. 

I really hope they do, this game seems interesting.

DIdnt like Halo so im not super excited for anything from Bungie TBH. i could care less if this game made it to PC or not. There plenty of other games to play and most of those will likely be better anyway.

Clearly, you don't know what a 'One hit wonder' is. That implies they made one good game and the rest were poor or they didn't make anything at all.

I'm interested with the game, but i really couldn't care either way, i'm burnt out on the insert semi generic  FPS here. 

I would play it on the PC.

Irrespective of my own uncertainty to Destiny's aspirations and identity, more games on the PC platform is always a welcome proposition.  Dunno if it'll be funner on the PC (hopefully Bungie supports mods and strives to enhance performance of the game where & when possible), but I'd be more likely to own it on PC if they choose to develop it.

If they make it for PC i doubt there will be any kind of mod tools. It will probably just be a port and thats it.

If it comes to PC, I will get it. But I couldn't really care less if it didn't. Dosen't look like anything special.

Not really.  I played Halo on the PC and it really wasn't anything special.  Now, if they were making another Myth game, then I might care.
