I bought a PS3 last september but only just got it up and running now (didn't have an HDMI compatible moniter or a TV), even though It was sitting there doing nothing all this time I didn't regret the purchase.

I just started playing Red Dead Redmption which has affirmed my decision to buy the console, it seems great so far. Once i'm done with it Imma play through the Uncharted series.

I do regret buying Duke Nukem Forever for 5 bucks last week on a steam sale.

I'm pretty stringent with my money so I rarely get buyers remorse.

Believe it or not. But after I bought my graphics card just over a year ago (GTX570) at the time I paid about 290 pounds for it including delivery. Now the performance was obviously fantastic, but the fact id spent so much made me feel like id overspent. But then again, this was the first real high end card id ever bought since I used to aim at the mid range cards. the Geforce 9800GTX+ in 2009, 7600GT in 2006 and X1950 Pro in 2007 for example. Obviously now, im glad I did it, with games like BF3, Skyrim, Witcher 2 around these days.

For some reason, I only love PC Gaming. Steam is my xBox Live. I just can't get into system games for some reason.

I rarely play my console any more. I have a 360 and a ps3.

Games cost the same on both (actually, cheaper on pc sometimes), so I find theres more advantage getting the PC version almost always... better graphics, mods-graphic improvements, faster more smooth framerate, higher resolution combined with AA and AF and other filtering options, faster load times, no changing discs, easy to backup save games at anytime... the list goes on, and on.

The only time I do use my consoles is when theres a game that I really must play, and its exclusive for some reason, then I do buy it... but with the consoles hardware now dating back to late 2005 technology, they have nothing that can beat a modern day pc.... consoles are still using Directx9 if i remember... and we are already at Directx11 on PC... and directx12 within 2 years.

Whenever the next gen consoles do come out, it'll be a tough decision, but I'll only buy 1 this time, and it won't be for a long while after price drops and only if some exclusive games come out i like.

That poll is interesting, it shows that us PC gamers that do own consoles are really put off them at this point.

Meh, I enjoy playing Games. Doesn't matter which system it's on. I don't play games for graphics/fps, I play them for their stories/multiplayer... the fun stuff.

Also, all you people saying you only play PC games nowadays, does that mean you don't play stuff like Red Dead Redemption, Dark Souls, Uncharted, etc.? Because those games are pretty much worth owning a console for.

Yea. I was a little surprised that so many felt that way.

Then again pc gamers tend to be more savvy consumers out of necessity: you have to be when shopping for (parts for) a gaming rig.

I'm more curious now because the ps3 & 360 haven't sold nearly as many units combined as the ps2 alone when it was as old. However some game franchises have been selling record numbers. So did a lot of ps2 owners decide to just game on the pc this gen?

I haven't owned a console since the PS2, I guess when it comes to deciding between a console or a graphic card/cpu motherboard upgrade...I always choose the upgrades.

I mean if you know how to build a PC then you can build a rig that is like 50 times better then a PS3 or 360 for around the same amount of money as buying a system, some games, extra peripherals and xbox live service.

I think it is quite possible that many people might have learned to build a rig or purchased a prebuilt PC and just never went back. That was the case with myself, once I learned to build my own PC I never looked back.

This gen has been terrible for games...just terrible. Only reason I own a PS3 is due to the blu ray player and Netflix. I occasionally play games on it, but there's just nothing out there that interests me.

Actually, I'm more excited about playing FFIX on my PS3 than any new game. This goes for the 360 as well, but the 360 sucks even more, because it's a half assed media center...DVD....seriously?
