Age of Mythology
Baldur's Gate I
Baldur's Gate II
Half-Life 2 (+ episodes)
KOTOR 1
TF2
Portal
Braid
Bioshock
I think that's ten. (the episodes together are their own game)
Why not get all these awesome games by saving money and just building your own. Believe me man its alot easier than you probrobly think, you can do it.
using gamespots top PC games as a guideline here is my top 10 (not neccesarily in order from best to wort or vice-versa)
Diablo
Crysis (or far cry since they are quite similar)
The Orange Box
Age of Mythology or age of empires 2 (once again very similar, but in this case i suggest you don't get both unless you really want to.)
Unreal Tournament (one of them)
Quake
Command and Conquer: Red Alert, Congratz this game is actually released as freeware by EA games. (along with original C&C)
COD:4
and now to add some racers to the mix
Burnout paradise collectors edition
Need For Speed Underground 2 or my personal fav racing game Flat out 2 (i reckon it deserves at least an 8.3)
1. Call of Duty 4
2.Crysis
3.GTA 4
4.Bioshock
5.Sims 3
6.Left 4 Dead
7.Prototype
8.Street Fighter 4
9.Orange Box
10.Spore ( luv that game lol)
More recent games:
1 The Orange Box/HL2 series
2 Total War (Empire, Medieval II, or Rome, whichever setting you prefer)
3 Crysis/Warhead
4 Fallout 3
5 Mass Effect
6 The Witcher
7 Dead Space
8 Left 4 Dead
9 STALKER
10 Prototype (Best sandbox game imo, so much better than gta 4)
Older games: Baldur's Gate series, Diablo 2, Warcraft 3, Starcraft, Half-Life, Vampire TM: Bloodlines, Knights of the Old Republic.
1. A total war game.. I highly recommend Rome but if you want nice graphics Medievil 2 will be good enough.
2. Crysis + Warhead. Crysis is great but gets of to a slow start. Once you start getting into the controls abit thoe it all starts to pick up nicely and this is were warhead will shine. Was so much fun for me.
3. Supreme Commander + forged alliance. Supreme commander has a pretty good campaign and forged alliance just adds those units/buildings you always wanted in supreme commander to begin with.
Only recently started playing PC games myself so that is all i can really suggest at this moment. Not finnished many of my games yet. :)
Syndicate (or wars)
Ufo: Defence
Fallout 1+2
Baulders gate (1+2 + exps to both of them)
The Witcher
CS:S
Neverwinter nights (and 2 if youd go that far)
Crysis
Deus Ex
System shock 2
I just got a gaming pc, so I can only reccommend a couple:
1. X3: Terran Conflict - This game on a nice sized monitor with some headphones and graphics turned up will make you feel like you're in space and on acid. It's like the most immersive game I've ever seen. The Oblivion of space sims.
2. Dawn of War 2 - Different from the first one, but better.
3. Neverwinter Nights 2 - if you're a d&d nerd, at least.

This. Its a truely unique and inspiring game. First time you see a planet from our Solar System (ie Jupiter), your jaw will drop. Mine did.
Since I'm assuming the TC is talking about purchases instead of games (i.e. The Orange Box versus the individual games in it), I'll go by that. I'll also include expansions, mods, and official plug-ins with the main games--for example, Crysis+Crysis: Warhead would count as one game, as well as Garry's Mod + any Source game (or The Orange Box).
The Orange Box (plus Garry's Mod), Morrowind GotY, Oblivion GotY, Fallout 3, Dead Space, The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Director's Cut, Crysis, RE5, Left 4 Dead, MGS: Rising
I wanted to include L4D2, too. :(
Hold on there! That will not play all games on high detail at high res. Heck, if we're talking about 1600x1200 or higher, that won't even manage all medium. Do not buy that computer if you are looking for good gaming at high res. For convenience main specs are: Athlon X2 7750@2.7ghz, 2GB DDR2 and 9500GT.btw this is the pc im getting http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227160 ,i was told it could play pretty much all pc games on hi res. is that true?
