I am thinking about buying a new laptop right now, seeming I've had my old desktop for 5 years now and it doesn't quite do justice to all the new games. I'm not an avid gamer, but I do play the Total War series and just recently I got Empire: Total War for my Birthday. I know my desktop won't be able to handle it (it can barely play Medieval 2: Total War.) System requirements for the game include a 2.4 GHz processor. I've built a machine to have all the other specs the game requires (see below.) I want some advice on whether I should get an Intel Core2 Duo T9600 2.8GHz processor or an Intel Core2 Quad Q9000 2.0GHz processor for my laptop. The prices are relatively similar so money doesn't matter. I'm just looking at performance and maybe energy efficiency. I'm pretty new to this so it might be a stupid question. Any advice I can get is appreciated though. Thanks :) Alienware M17x Intel Core2 Quad Q9000 2.0GHz processor or Intel Core2 Duo T9600 2.8GHz processor Windows Vista Home Premium (64 bit) Dual Nvidia GTX 280M SLI graphics 1920x1200 (1200p) 17" screen 4 GB Dual Channel DDR3 at 1060 MHz 500GB 7,200 RPM HDD DVD Drive I know this machine is pricey, but I've been saving for a long time now and I almost have enough :)
