Seems the 5870 has officially been taken off newegg... They just deactivated them :? As for the rest of the build, it looks good. Just change the memory to the one marcthpro linked to, as the corsair memory in that build is waaaaay overpriced.

Not a fair price. Should be 380 I think. Here is one but it is out of stock at the moment.

Duckman, he's Canadian. After all the shipping costs and customs charges, that would probably end up being heftier than 500. Go for this one Link. 50 bucks less than what you found, and it's the same card. Might want to act quickly though, since they apparently only have 3 left.

And btw: if you wish to save a few dollars, change the mobo to the MSI Pro-E, the PSU to an Antec Truepower New 750W, and, if you're willing to settle for less disk space for performance, the WD Caviar Black 640Gb. Cheaper, faster, and the only thing you lose is space, which I highly doubt you'll miss.

Too late it's backordered. Oh and if you want fast speeds AND low price get the Spinpoint F3.

They have three more cards in stock as well. Here's one from MSI and two from Sapphire.

Im think gonna go with what you guys suggested, I'll post a link on the stuff soon. And Ill order all the parts I need then ill see wether i would rather asemble it myself or go to tigerdirect n pay them 90 bucks to do it for me.

People are saying it isnt as hard as it seems to build your own pc so i may just find a good guide on youtube and follow it.

And ill have to find that Radeon HD 5870 either online or perhaps in store.

So is this a good rig? This is the one you all reccomend?

Yes it Very good :D expect the hard Drive which is very slow : green Caviar are Low power consumption & ecologic but they are weak in performances : you need a 7200:12 1TB or 1TB black caviar or the ultimate 1TB : The Samsung spintpoint F3 1TB

and a cpu cooler if you will overclock ur core i7 920 to around 4.0ghz+ (beefdog Reached 4.2Ghz)

Yeah, that's a good setup :) Aye, it's not too hard to put together a PC as every part has a place to go. Kind of like a more elaborate and expensive version of putting shaped blocks into teir respective shaped holes. In college, my class had a small mini course on putting a PC together, and the end test was putting one together with all the pieces in front of you, and you were allowed to ask any questions you wanted. Well, that's kind of the situation anyways, as you've got us, and numerous guides to ask for help when putting things together, and so long as you're grounded and take your time, it'll go off without a hitch. :)

They're not THAT slow, but they are slower than the black edition and the spinpoint F3. At least it has 32MB of cache, which is solid.

They're probably faster than the hard-drives I have in my computer :P They're not geared towards speed, but at the same time there are plenty of drives slower than them. In this case, if he's building a gaming rig, the greens aren't the right fit, but in many situations the greens aren't too shabby. I can understand the difference though. Personally, I'd only buy the green versions for storage, as I've been eying the WD Blue series (specifically the 640GB model) myself as it combines good speed and silence at the cost of a bit more power used and heat exerted.
