Quad cpu's right now and most likely a year from now will be a waste(cant use all the power)2-4gb of ram is plenty,The raptor hardrives are a waste, Two 8800gts 512mb in sli is plenty fast and cost less, If your going with vista 32bit you might as well stick with Windows XP, Sound card is good.
Quad CPU's is a waste? Depends on how you use your rig. The more you multi-task the more likely you are to use the power of a Quad Core.
2 - 4 gig is enough? Not for me, of course I am a software developer, and I use my rig to play games. But I am running 3 gig right now (all my mobo/32 bit windows will recognize of the 4 gig I have installed).
So I am about to go Quad + 8 gig, because I max out 3 gig all of the time and its annoying.
He only wants it for gaming. What you reccomended is completely pointless overkill.
