Pew this has been one huge busy game year. I don't remember a quarter where so many good and decent games have come out.

I've gotten Bioshock, Hellgate London, World in Conflict, Gears of War (PC Version), Enemy Territory Quake Wars, The Orange Box.

Now since its November I'm slightly stuck between choosing 2 games now. Its Call of Duty 4 and Crysis. I tried the Crysis demo and wasn't that all slightly impressed. Sure it has good graphics and a nice solid shooter feel to it, but COD4 looks more interesting and I get better framerate than I do Crysis.

So should I spend money for either COD4 or Crysis? Both are good games. I'm kinda in a quandry at the moment.

Crysis is the best game I've ever played, get it now! What are you waiting for? I got it for 40 bucks at frys!

CoD4 is pretty good, but after playing Crysis, and comparing the two, CoD4 is no where NEAR as good, not even in multiplayer.

After playing both, I don't see what's great about Crysis other than it looking pretty. That said, get CoD4. The single player campaign is basically like being in a military drama, and the multiplayer isn't a lesser bf2 clone.

Frankly, if I owned as many games as you, I wouldn't even bother purchasing a new one for the next couple months! :P In all seriousness though, it seems like you'll like CoD 4 more. Personally, I would prefer Crysis, but I think the average gamer with the average gaming PC will get a lot more out of CoD4 when you factor in the multiplayer.

I would choose COD4, Crysis is not really even a complete game at the moment. Too many bugs and the single player campiagn is really short so they can stretch it into a triology.

And if you play it on Delta, you're pretty much just sneaking around using the camo the entire game. That might be why I didn't like it too much. I'm sure it's more fun if you can just run into town and punch people through shacks and punch over cars.

Crysis, like 3 times longer SP experiance that can be played differntly each time, cinematic movie feel to it. Multiplayer may not have as many modes but its also alot more free and theres always mods. Speaking of mods, the sandbox editor 2 could sell itself , its so amazing!

So its all that, vs. a short SP story that makes u follow the same paths , but has tons of drama and chaos, and good mp.

I'm just now in Crysis in the fifth level "The Core" playing in "Delta", around 16 hours (the game is about 11 levels), and I must add that besides the open gameplay and flexibility and epic campaign in the outdoor enviroments, the game is really scary and ominous in the alien levels; playing thse levels on Delta isn't a joke: I've played tense games before (F.E.A.R., Doom 3, Undying, S.T.A.K.E.R.) but the sense of menace and the fersome reduction of your ammunition and lifebarr in the unpredictable encounters in these laberyntic, gloomy levels will push your heart beats...

How many of these threads do we have to endure? Is there some law that says you can not play both games? I finished COD4, it was an awesome game and one of the best I have played in a long time, best in the series. I am now playing Crysis, it is in a class all its own, but does not make COD4 a lesser game. Both are awesome and no one should miss either one.

I bought both of them this week. Crysis has definitely gotten a lot more play time from me.

Personally I would opt for Call Of Duty 4 over Crysis. CoD 4 looks decent enough without breaking your machine and the multiplayer value from CoD 4 is enormous. Just my two cents.

I don't think there is any contest between Crysis and CoD4. CoD4 will always win that contest. Great single player game, and some serious multiplayer action. Crysis just felt too much like Farcry and I didn't even like that game. Sure, if you have the system Crysis can be a stunning game. Still, it just doesn't have the feel that CoD4 or any of the CoD series had.

if you want a great single player game choose crysis, if you want online mulitplayer game that makes Counter Strike, and Battlefield look stupid ( I am a diehard bf2 and bf 2142 fan....i bought a 3000 dollar gaming laptop just to play it with all setting on high)

COD4 multiplayer is more fast pasted than battlefield and has more command elements than Counter strike (i.e. air strikes, UAVs, and real heilo support.....unlike in battlefield where you would hope someone from your team would give you heilo and air strike support).

I hope you mean to you. Look at any of the endless polls pitting Crysis against CoD4 in this forum, and Crysis wins in nearly a landslide vote.

If you have a VERY good computer, then Crysis. If you have an average computer than can play most games well, then COD4. Crysis is great and COD4 was great. Just depends on what you can run. I loved COD4 singleplayer and the multiplayer is awesome. With Crysis I'm still playing the singleplayer and my machine can run it high-very high with like 20-40fps maybe, but even having slower framerates it's the one of the most satisfying singleplayer games I've ever experienced, but that's just my opinion.

I sway towards COD4 due the fact that even a high-end rig can't even max out Crysis.

What feel? That linear, corridor shooter, gameplay-from-last-decade feel?

I have Crysis and it's the best shooter I've ever played, the story and gameplay is really good.

COD4 is yet another COD singleplayer game, and with a pretty good multiplayer, and Crysis have both of them, though the multiplayer isn't as good as COD4's multiplayer. Anyway, I'm getting both of them but right now, I'll finish Crysis first, it's freaking awesome!!! :D

i havent played the full version of CoD4 yet, but if you are comparing demos, crysis completely obliterates the CoD4 one. the CoD4 was so BLAND and boring i couldnt even bring myself to finish it. but like i said, i havent played the full CoD4 or online so dont regard this post as saying crysis is way better. but here's a tip, you dont need a super computer like everyone says as long as your processor is good. and you have good ram. i use a nvidia 7600 GT :D

anyway, i recommend crysis but im not recomending over CoD4. im just saying that i would get crysis instead (which i did :P ) but the choice is up to you unless you want to give me your money. and i have been hearing good things about COD

I say the demos were crap, Crysis is such an amazing game, that demo didn't do justice for it! Same with CoD4, that game was much better then I thought it would be. Crysis win's in my book though.

If given the choice, call of duty 4. Just because I wouldn't need a nasa computer to run it with "medium" settings ¬¬ ...

They offer different experiences though... Comparing them can be kinda silly but, overall, CoD is probably the better game...

cod4 has probably 5 times the amount of players online
