omg this game is crap, with this post i want to warn everybody who are thinking about buying it.

i played this game for 5 days now (finished the sp campaign for gdi and nod) and played a bit mp

and must say im extremly disappointed with this game. i have played a lot of rts games lately (age of empires 3,

warhammer dark crusade, warcraft3) and they are all better then this piece of sh** .the gameplay is absolutely stupid u dont

need any tactics or combine troops just be the first with a pack of tanks and go for the enemy base - map finished. the mp maps are very small and all look almost the same.

one good thing about c&c3 are the nice videos but thats it. im going to sell my copy of c&c3 on ebay

and hope someone will buy it lol

EA made it very clear that it was just going to be more of the same - and that's precisely what c&c3 is - more of the same command and conquer

give the original c&c a graphics overhaul and it could be command and conquer 3

so, with that in mind - you could only be disappointed with c&c3 if you were expecting it to be something else entirely

don't get me wrong, i'm not defending c&c3 - i stopped liking c&c a long time ago precisely because it dropped far behind the curve of the genre's evolution - but i had that opinion before playing c&c3 - and because EA told us they weren't going anywhere with it, my belief was reinforced and so i felt no compulsion to buy the game

why did you buy it? you're disappointed because your expectations were wrong - that's not the game's fault... it's yours

sure, the game isn't so hot compared with the genre's finest - but everyone made it abundantly clear beforehand, and there was a demo

research more next time

I've got the game and I think it has played as promised. It is C&C with better graphics and some small strategic additions.  The single player campaign was fairly well scripted and I think the AI does a good job. You are correct however that the combined arms tactics is rather weak in the game. I think the problem I'm having with you asking for your money back is that you seem to be expecting something that EA didn't promise.

I'm enjoying C&C 3 and have played it quite a bit but I find myself going back to Supreme Commander. It's dramatically different than most RTS in scale and definitely has a more rich strategy in scouting and how you much use unit diversity to win. yes, you can spam siege bots in tier 3 and win most games but good players can defeat them with gunships and good base defenses plus it's easy enough to mod the game if there is a particular unit that is proving to be too powerful.

I think my point is not to be too hard on C&C 3.  It's a good game but isn't exactly a deep strategy wise at this point. Perhaps a future patch will balance some things out and make the game less tank heavy.

I was watching the videoreview of the game from gametrailers and it seems to be spot on. There's not that much resource management or micro-ing to worry about. The emphasis of the game seems to be on how fast you can tech up and rush the other side.

I'm still going to get it. I like CnC. Apperently unlike everyone else here I think there is definitely strategy to the series. You described a tank rush. Well, a rush is a strategy. And it's not like you can't defend against it.

It is not complicated. At all. Here, I'll tell you how it is.

If you like, or have ever liked a C&C game, you will like this. It is the same ol C&C gameplay with great graphics. If you think you would like that, get it.

For me cnc 3 is properly the best game this year, Crysis and UT3 and quake wars dosnt ring a bell with me and ive been very entertained by cnc 3, diffently the best RTS since Red Alert 2, and yes i have tried sup com and company of heroes but those games didnt entertain me. I have zero bad things to say about cnc 3, its just exactly how a command and conquer game should be and since ive been with those games since the very first one then im very happy about the new one.

Indeed, and Nod requires much more then a simple tank rush. Nod is a fun side to play if you dont want to use tanks, there you can play around with a lot of stealth.
