Hey, recently diagnosed one of my two sticks of ram as faulty, and am now down to 2gb of system memory. I have 64 bit installed atm. It's running fine, but I just want to make sure that running 64 bit with only 2 gb of ram doesn't have any negative effects? Thanks.

lol. ok I'll rephase, games that only need upto 2 gb will run fine, games that like more the 2gb will not run so well. Ive seen people with 2gb with Win 7 RC and run Crysis and Farcry 2 just fine. But a game like ghostbuster that needs 2+ gb or more to run descent lagged. Win 7 handles memory better then Vista or Xp.

I have a netbook running windows 7 ultimate 32bit.... yes 2GB will run fine... 1GB the OS will be very slow. 2GB will run decent but only basic usage. 3-4GB would be good ammount for win7

What does your netbook have to do with it? It's not even 64bit

Running Win 7 64bit with 2 Gigs of RAM and using it playing in 1080p resolution for most games (not Crysis, though). It's very smooth and just a tad more resourefull than Windows Xp was.

I'd think so but it would be totally pointless and you'd run into countless compatibility issues :S. Not worth it is the bottom line

I'm gonna get the second stick replaced, so I'll be back up to 4gb soon. I was just making sure that like, for the month of January, I wouldn't mess anything up if I used 64 bit with 2gb of ram.
