If by outperform,you mean that the 8800GT can deliever graphics superior to the 360 and PS3,then yes,but otherwise,they can't be compared,they're in completely different classes,they work differently.

Well although the 8800GT is technically at LOT more powerful, the games made for PC's are not optimized just for that card so consoles perform much better with the hardware they have! I would say the 8800Gt can prduce better graphics but not by a huge amount.
hands down with out a doubt, a dual core processor, 4 GB ram, and dual 8800 sli are so much more powerful than any console could dream of... but again, cant compare sniper rifles to howitzers. a console is a precision machine where a pc is a powerhouse of versatility

yeah that was a big generalisation really but thats its performance roughly thats kind of power it has and thats why i added its different with the cell...

Well the x1800xt can run CoD4 @ 720p pretty well, hell my 7900GT could play that game @1280x1024, but console have to run it @ 600p, all that optimization and still not a big improvement. Console parts perform close to there desktop counterparts, yes they do outperform them by a little but the difference is smaller than most think. As with the 8800GT, it is way more powerful than the GPUs in the consoles, and always will be. take my word for it no amount of optimization will allow those console GPUs to perform even close to a G92 series GPU.
