My CD-drive is dead and I need a new. I thought since I just got a full HD monitor I should get a blu-ray. But is blu-ray drives for BLU-RAY only or do they also run everything else, like games, installation CDs etc. etc. ? If yes, whats ur recommendations for a good drive? Personally I looked at this one: http://ca.lge.com/en/products/model/detail/supermultiblue_ggch20l.jhtml

They run and burn DVD's, CD's, whatever. They're backwards compatible.

means they can play CD and DVD too lol. IF you have the cash buy one. But make sure you read reviews and buy a quality one.

Also I would like to know how a blu-ray drive connects? My motherboard is a nForce 650i. Do you need "newer" mobos to connect blu-rays?

Nope, standard sata connection. A 650i will have sata ports, just depends how many of the ports you are using now
