Hiya, I want to install Win7 64-bit, currently running 32bit Windows Vista. Can I run 32bit games on a 64bit system? I have Crysis designed for 32bit Windows, is it possible to play it on a 64bit system? Cheers.

Cheers. Also, will gaming and general performance improve at all, going from Vista 32bit to Win7 64bit?

If you have a lot of RAM it will. Otherwise you probably won't notice any difference (unless of course you have 1GB of RAM :P )

Booting is faster, some apps run smoother, but that is due to Win7 more so than 64-bit.

Hmmm. Crysis Maximum Edition has both 32-bit and 64-bit versions in separate folders and they both run fine in 64-bit Windows 7.

I have the Steam version which I've heard is only 32-bit.

I would go with 64-Bit seeing that you have 4GB of RAM. Having 4GB of memory with a 32-bit system is a waste because a 32-bit system only actually utilizes around 3GB of that memory. 64-bit systems are backwards compatible with most 32-bit programs. When you install a 64-bit system it actually creates two Program Files folders, one for 64-bit software and another for 32-bit software. I am currently using Windows 7 64-Bit and so far I haven't had any problems with 32-bit apps.

I have the Steam version which I've heard is only 32-bit.

Steam may be only 32bits, but the games are not. Steam is only a game launcher kind of platform anyway. And like I said, it is about your CPU. OS has almost nothing to do with it.

Alright, well my CPU is P8600 Duo Core 2.40 GHz. Will that be alright?

No, I was referring to the game itself, not Steam. I've heard that Steam only gives you the 32-bit version of Crysis.
