It depends on the res, and if he runs into issues (unlikely) he can always allocate more. Although it won't be as fast as dedicated memory. With 128MB of VRAM it'll run like a tortoise.

The card shares RAM with the laptop so it can go as high as 1.5 GB. The card can play BF2 on medium so I would say he can probably play skyrim on low/medium.
You should be good for high settings. You have the recommended gpu and you have a good cpu. I can't say what fps you'll get but I would guess at least 30 as long as you don't go overboard with AA.
