I'm a console gamer born again. I'm just getting into PC gaming now, and I'm not really sure what the best GPU's and CPU's are on the market.

CPU: intel SandyBridge Core i7 2600 3.4Ghz Quad Core (x4) 8MB Catche

MB (Chipset): Intel H61 Chipset B3 Stepping

Ram: 8GB DDR3-1333 Dual Channel Ram

Harddrive: 1TB 7200RPM

Optical Drive: CD + DVD Multi-Function DVD Writer

Graphic: ATI Radeon HD6770 1GB GDDR5

Network: Broadband Ready with Ethernet port

Audio: High Definition Audio

Case: RaidMax BLACKSTROM 1x Blue 120mm LED Fan + 1x Rear 120mm Blue Leaf Fan ATX with 510W PSU

USBS: 6 x USBs.

That is my Rig.

I want to be able to run Battlefield 3 with a good framerate and dec visuals without having to spend to much money.

It would be helpful if you guys could rip into my rig and tell me what needs improving.

Just remember to stick with AMD GPUs. They offer much better price/performance ratio than Nvidia GPUs. And AMD GPUs offer Morphological Anti-Aliasing which Nvidia GPUs do not.

BTW, Nvidia Physx is pretty much irrelevant.

If your gonna come here with that attitude, just leave.

@TC, a few changes to the rig you have there,

1. Change the CPU to a i5 2500k

2. Change to a p67 or z68 mobo.

3. Look at the AMD 6950 or GTX560 Ti. For a cheaper solution, theres the AMD 6870.

4. Get a better PSU, thats a no-name brand.

Also, the Cooler Master HAF 932 Advanced is the best full tower case available these days. Second best would be the Cooler Master HAF X.

Don't listen to this. Stick with the 2600k. It's better.

Yes, either one is fine. ASUS makes the best motherboards.

Look at the AMD 6950 or GTX560 TiGTR12

Don't bother with the Nvidia graphics card.

Its not a 2600k to begin with, and do you even know how its better?

Prove that ASUS makes the best mobo.

2600k is the best gaming CPU available at the moment, and I'm not going to go into the details why. If you are that clueless, you can research those details yourself.

Also, ASUS has made the best gaming motherboards for the last decade, and that has not changed. Again, if you are clueless as to why, go research that yourself also.

Im not the 1 thats clueless, you are infact, It is not the best gaming CPU, the 2600 has extra things (threads), they do not help with gaming in anyway as of now, they are used for other tasks (non-gaming related).

ASUS has not made the best motherboards, thats your opinion, not of everyone else.

Seeing that you didn't even state those 2 differences, its fairly obvious that your just yelling at people to go do their own research because you don't have those answers yourself.

Not just youtube videos...

Everytime I'm browsing the forums wondering to myself about something... I see ionus's post and link regarding it. And this AMD fanboy is starting to get really, really, really annoying -.-

excuse me u directing that my way.. ill have u know i have the utmost respect for intel's products and nvidia's as well and kingston (amd makes ram now) i simply view nvidia's cockiness and intels poor buisness practices for what they are .. ridonculous

(yes i said ridonculous)

for every pot shot youd like to take at amd i can turn around and say something jsut as nasty about intel. like how they are trying to rip pre-built customers off with locked cpu's and then making you pay extra for "unlocking software" which can be manually done anyway if your a smart person and ask the right questions to the right people (an example being this very forum). i also dont approve of intel always super overpricing their flagships the 990x and core 2 extreme's i rest my case there.

i also dont approve of the way nvidia treats their AiB's and their inability to get a handle on their foreign markets which are being misrepresented by cheap 3rd party knock-offs posing as their official nvidia cards. (yes this is real i thought best not to report this mysterious no-name AiB making cheap knock-offs of plain bestbuy grade nvidia cards)
