I have a Western Digital Passport that I keep things backed up on and I was doing some fall cleaning on it and noticed I had a quite a few directories that are named "f76e1f791802f1e17f927824fdcfabbd" and "f4e354fa8b6caf2c9b61ad4709" (basically garbage) and it won't let me delete them saying access denied. I go to the property and uncheck the read only but it reverts back. I try to go into the sub directories and and it won't even allow me to go into them (access denied). Most of these folders have one subdirectory labeled "update" while one as two subdirectories Amd64 and i386. Another directory just has the i386 and the last one just has a couple DLL files.

How do I delete these folders?

Go to My Computer and remove the Read Only attribute from the whole hard drive and see if that works.
