Gamespot, I'm in need of your expertise.

Me and a few friends have a youtube channel, pretty nerdy but that's that. I've recorded a few videos in the past of Mount & Blade and stuff like that and performance has been fine and dandy. Yet when I try to record Final Doom (using the Risen 3D source port, but it does the same using any port or even Dosbox) then the frame rate drops to 4.

Anyone know why this is?

Fianal Doom is an extremely demanding game, you're going to need about four GTX 480s and a 8 core processor that runs at a minimum of 3.6ghz in order to record it with a somewhat stable frame rate and even then you'll be lucky to even break 25 fps.

Vesica_Prime

Fraps is an awful choice performance wise, size wise and price wise.

WeGame, is just so much better and free.

The XFire recorder does wonders for Skulltag, maybe it will work on Risen3D.
