i'd say blizzard is the best at the actual development process. although valve has the best mod support/user tools/moddable games etc etc. probably a tie for me
As a kid I was interested in Starcraft, a young teenager in Warcraft 3, but they both get old, fast. Since then Blizzard hasn't done anything that I even acknowledge exists.
Valve by far. Blizzard gotten lazy with World of Warcraft. The story in that game is absolutely horrible and really insults the work they did with Warcraft 3. i also hate their efforts to continually milk their customers. I think Blizzard has changed a lot since they started making perverse amounts of money. Valve, on the otherhand, almost never disappoints.
This thread tugs at my heart strings. These are my two favourite developers and as such I refuse to vote!.. Though... If I did vote it would probably be for Valve just because Half-Life gave me my start in gaming. Not to say that StarCraft and Diablo didn't steal away many years of childhood innocence as well.
