LOL that is 1000x the speed i get in my third world country.

I wished so much that i could do online gaming but my country sucks in technology.

Oh how fun it would be to play COD4 online but nevermind.:(

wow dude what country do you live in?

Pakistan. The only thing i can play online is CS 1.6 and that also on my internet providers server.

You can actually do online gaming if you have the money to.A 512k connection would cost you $250 per month.

Just curious how much you people pay for internet in the west. And do gamers have a better connection than normal or everybody's fine.

I would think twice before giving out wrong information. I live in Pakistan, Islamabad. A 512k conenction costs 1200rs, which is 20$ per month. So get the facts straight please.

Wait are you serious. Can you do online gaming. And dude i am not talking about a shared 512k connection.I am also not talking about a volume based connection with a download limit either.I am talking about a standalone 512k connection with no limit.

The only way you can do online gaming with a $20 connection is if you get a download limit account which will be full within hours of gaming.Plz let me know what you are saying.I am very curious to know what you have to say.I live in karachi.

i'm talking about volume based connection.

On a 512K connection, you'll only be able to play online with less than 100 ping on servers located in pakistan. Anything abroad will lag too much.

And volume based connection is perfect for online gaming, because an hour of online gaming only uses about 8-9MB of bandwidth, i know because i play COD2 online.

Wow man if that 8-9MB thing is right than slap in my face for being ignorant all this time.I can afford to get a 1MB connection with a limit which may help furthur. But i need to know a few things from you.

Do you have DSL or cable and who is your provider. What do you mean by servers in pakistan.I mean who does online gaming here. And can you play a newer game like COD4.And does normal internet browsing take up the limit?

And plz tell me what is your download speed.:)

I have DSL, its Micronet Broadband Limited. www.dsl.net.pk
Lots of people do online gaming here. But because COD4 is very new, you might not find its servers easily. And by servers in pakistan i mean that someone has started an online server from within pakistan. When you play on a sever from the same country, your physical location from the server is very close and thus your ping will be lower and you'll be able to play without any lag. But if the server is located 1000miles away, like in USA, then your distance from it will be very very far and your ping will be high and you will experience lag.
About who does online gaming here, go to games.dsl.net.pk to find out information about servers and how to join them.

I normally get 53kb/sec upload and download.

seabiscuit8686

All that speed is nice, but is the network unmonitored? Kudos if it's unmonitored, not so much of it is.

Well I have ADSL 2 line

Download is ~14000Kbps & Upload is ~900Kbps. (I need the upload speed more than the download speed)

I've got over 70 TV channels + ~70 countries for free of charge (only fixed phones) + Internet

I'm paying 29,99 euros per month.
