I was wondering if it is worth the purchse at $5. I was also wondering how bad the language is and what the sexual content rating is for. I don't mind some language as long as it is not constant F-bombs. The other part about the sex does not bother me as long as it is skippable or not intense like in Mass Effect when basicaly it is just a make-out session with shirts off. A description of the worst language and sex content would be appreciated. Violence isnot an issue as longas there is no ultra-gory-guts-flying-everywhere sequences. No worse than RE/Dead Space or Unreal Tournament 3. When anything is gratuitous it is annoying. Language, sex, or violence. TY in advance.

I don't really know anything about Riddick, but I heard the games are fun. I also just watched some gameplay and it dose not seem to have a lot of language like you said and there was little blood from what little I watched. It seems decent enough, but I'll wait for more opinions.

I came to this forum specifically to see if someone made a post like this, to see if I should pick it up also. I haven't played either of the games.

This. But the language is pretty rough. It takes place in a prison with the roughest killers in the world. They dont watch their mouths. Nuff said

I already have it, though I got it from Amazon Digital services, (back when it was on sale, for about the same price as it is now on Steam).

I do wonder that If I have that version and my GF gets the Steam version, would we be able to play together in multiplayer. Mainly If I add it to steam through the add a non-steam game, could we connect on the game through steam? Like Join the game or server each other is in, simply by going through the Steam interface clicking on our screen names and selecting Join game?

I have played and beat the Escape from Butcher's Bay on the Xbox, I will say that it does have some gore, and some language. I do not remember how much, nor does it really bother me, so it won't stand out in my memories even if it did.

good lord, yes :)

many, many reasons:

1. incredible, unique gameplay with solid controls and diversity (stealth, run n gun, fighting with fists, etc)...sneaking up on guys with Riddicks nightvision and snapping their neck or shanking them, or walking up to an armed guard, overpowering him, and blowing his brains out in front of your face is just...brutal. Its the most immersive feeling of brutality I have ever experienced in a game, period...I could almost feel the blood on my hands

2. beautiful level design; when you start out, its a pretty typical futuristic prison...it has a on-a-rail Half-life introduction, but then you progress and you keep askign yourself "How can there be such diversity on a flat desert planet!?!?"

3. gorgeous visuals, even to this day. It presents the darkness wonderfully, NPCs look great, animations are fluid

4. sound is top-notch...cracking bones, punches to the face, dialogue (Vin Diesel's gravelly voice is perfect!), the scuffing of boots on sandy concrete, and ambient noises are all presented well

5. The story is simple, but solid, and the way your main objective stays the same but how you get there, how the progression changes up on you, keeps things interesting: basically your goal is to escape so you do this but, OH NO! something happened so you gotta fight your way out and GASP! you stumbled into somewhere you should not be and you gotta --- you get my point lol

Debating this now only due to reading good things from so many people...

But if I don't like it, it's $5 wasted :P.

Hmm... I do not like the fact that there is DRM on this game though.

I have a few days to think about it. I'll consider it, but I have a pretty strict policy on buying games with DRM. It's a matter of principle...

Do you buy games on Steam at all? This is a legitimate question. If it's a matter of principle, Steam is DRM.

What? Of course. I've had a Steam account since '03.

What I meant is I do not pay for games that have DRM on top of Steam's. There is absolutely no point for there to be extra DRM other than the fact that the publisher is retarded.

They are not retarded, they do that cause Steam DRM is easy to crack.... If your principle is not buy games cause of DRM I respect that, but you are missing out on some great games for something minor, which makes no difference in the world if you play them or not...

They are still retarded because they still haven't realized that pirates can easily crack any DRM.

Well, not EASILY....they finally crack it sooner or later but there isn't anything EASY about it... Still, look at it from their point of view. Let's say you create a game, and put hours and days and weeks into it..... I bet you too would put DRM on it....

I would not put any additional DRM on it. I would release it as a Steamworks game and sell it at a fair price ($40-$45).

There are two games in one with CoR: DA because you get 'Escape from Butcher Bay' as well. Escape from Butcher Bay is a amazing game GS gave it a 9.3 score and it deserves the score. So 'YES' you should get it just to play 'EfBB'!!!

In this case it wasn't easy, the DRM wasn't cracked until weeks after the release. And I think that was their goal, so maybe a few pirates would buy it instead of waiting for a crack.

Pitch Black is a damn good film.I reckon, it's a bit underrated. Chronicles was crap really. The game captured perfectly a sense of claustrophobia and badassery in one. Similar to the one in Pitch Black.

Escape from Butcher Bay (which comes with Dark Athena) is one of the best shooters ever made. It's worth the purchase just for it.RK-Mara

This. I have yet to play a game where I'm as drawn into a character that doesn't go the "silent hero" route a la Half-Life 2 as Escape from Bucher Bay. Its really a must-play experience.
