It does, but like all the custom models, whether you want to use the changes or not is optional.

Oh nice. Seems like a nice refresher. I'll wait for this to be released. I should be all upgraded by then.

Yeah, I'm already getting all worked up. I played Half-Life 2 several times, it could be nice to have such a major overhaul for the next one. Will this be your second run?

Yeah, I rarely replay games, but I planned on replaying HL2 with the Cinematic mod sometime.

I tend to agree with ferret-gamer. He even said that he will tone down the dynamic destruction system to make sure that the engine can keep up. Cryengine 3 would probably have less limitations.

Not sure if it would achieve much, the Cryengine 3 only has the track record of allowing Crytek itself to make Crysis 2, and considering its age and iterations and its track record, it's obviously limited both development wise and modding wise. But with its primary focus being graphics(and features that enhance graphics) we can expect great graphics from any game made using this engine, although it's entirely possible Cryengine 4 will be both modding friendly and have more unlockable features(as opposed to features that will be in the engine but never get used; it's like telling us a game has an extra 10 levels but we can't play them).

ferret-gamer

Cryengine is primarily for handling high quality graphics, and while some of its inherent features are impressive, modding does not unlock them nor is the engine itself modding friendly. As someone said earlier, it's best for good modders to keep getting more experience with the old source engine until the new one is released for the next HL game.

No worries, I edited the post so it fixes the quote matching. But yes, in short, I'd love to see a more developer and modding friendly engine from Crytek, and I really wish Volition, Inc. would allow modding for their Geomod 2.5, it would be pretty cool to see how much you could improve the visuals before it became completely unplayable.

Crytek offers the SDK, but I don't know about many modding projects with it at the moment, so I agree that there is still much potential. Opening up Geomod would be awesome of course, but that is unlikely to happen. At least we will get id Tech 4 soon, can't wait for the stuff that the modding community will create.

Models are optional to anyone wondering

Mod looks fantastic, as always.

As, inb4 self entited man children 22 year olds living in their mothers basement complaining about the OPTIONAL new music, OPTIONAL gameplay changes, and OPTIONAL models.
