City of Heroes / Villians Help.

I use to play the game a lot back when. I don't play it anymore, I don't think many people play it anymore. I could be wrong though.

It was probably one of my favorite MMO's. Course, Cryptic Studios the creator of CoH is making Champions Online, which I think looks a lot better then City of Heroes. It basically the same concept but it looks more fun.

But side the fact, I made it to 50 on CoH, it took forever.

Well...they add a LOT of "endgame" content, but let's me explain in details cause it is not your regular setting.

Endgame content can be resume at acquiring IOs which make your character stronger. These IOs (Invention Origins, the stuff you slot in) can be earned killing ANYTHING level 51+. So you can solo/group/raid/PvP and earn it. The choice is yours.

- 2 raid encounters: Hamidon and Warship. Both CAN drop purples IO just as soloing could. For the HOs (Hamidon Origin enhancements), these have the best raw % but no set bonuses, so you may only want a few of these and stick with set for all powers you get to slot, but in a power with only the basic slot or 2 slots, these enhancements are great.

- RSF/STF: Give HOs as well. CAN drop purples IOs.

- LGTF: Best way to make money, CAN drops purples IOs.

- Orobourous story arc, 1 of them is the best way to gain purples IOs as far as I can tell (kills like 20 heroes in about 45 minutes)

- Soloing: This is the best way to acquire RARES salvages and a decent chance of purples IOs.

- PvP: Honestly, I can't talk about it, I hate PvP in any game, but it is an option which you can fully avoid (except for shivans and nukes, but most PvPers are nice and leave you alone when you earn these). (Shivans and nukes are temporary power which help you tremendously in the remaining of the game, always good to stock on those)

Just general awesome! The community is good, not large, but friendly and nice. Much better than wow, you dont get laughed at for being a "noob." So yeah. GET IT!

A great game but it's definitly getting old. And with all the interresting MMO realeases coming out by next year, you'll probably switch to another one quickly.

Nevertheless, I suggest you this game. It have the best community in all the MMORPG.. and I played a few. So since the game is rather cheap.. I'd take it, but I would keep an eye out on the upcoming games :
