Clearing FireFox address bar dropdown history?

I went into Clear Private Data and checked off all the boxes, but for some reason when I click the down arrow in the address bar, it still shows 12 sites, most of which I haven't visited in ages. How do I clear this list?

Which version? In 3.5, be sure you use Everything for the time range.

You have to 'Clear History'.

Sure those aren't in your bookmarks? When typing in the address bar firefox goes thru your bookmarks.
